  1. With the upliftment, AirAsia X can now purchase AirAsia Malaysia to get the latter out of PN17 status and consolidate Malaysia operation under one company. Quite a mess they did there with the organisation structure and Group structure.
  2. Yes, all these flights are/were operated under D7 code in addition to those under AK code. Pilot and crew are/were from D7. As for the sole A330-300 sub-leased under AK name saw limited use for BKI before being put into storage.
  3. Yes, Singapore, Denpasar, Hong Kong and Bangkok Suvarnabhumi. AirAsia Malaysia also leased an ex-D7 A330-300 9M-VVA. It did mostly KUL-BKI last time. Now it is in storage.
  4. Yes, the new AK Perth flight is in addition to those D7 daily flight. With the addition, they will have 14x weekly flights. Yes, AirAsia will resume A321neo delivery in 2024, with 362 on order. https://www.thestar.com.my/business/business-news/2022/08/27/airasia-to-resume-airbus-a321neo-deliveries-in-2024-as-growth-returns Looking at current production list, I would think it should be arriving at Q3, 2024, unless they are going for lessor's which can be delivered earlier.
  5. Hahahahaha? The last statement...... 😂
  6. AirAsia Malaysia will be launching Thiruvananthapuram, India and Perth, Australia soon. Thiruvananthapuram frequency unknown for now. Perth x14 weekly. Perth using A321neo On a side, I just noticed that Capital A is now calling AirAsia X as medium haul affiliate, no longer mid-to-long haul. Did a research on this, apparently this has been the case since its rebirth in June 2022. https://aviationweek.com/air-transport/airports-networks/airasia-x-prioritizes-medium-haul-recovery
  7. Yes, I was thinking the same actually. Was googling for MVB and MVC photo, but couldn't find any, even those at the Boeing production site. Perhaps the reporters heard Izham said they WERE supposed to get FOUR this year, but due to recent grounding and rework only TWO will arrive this year. 737-8 MAX, Malaysia Airlines, 9M-MVD (MSN 66354/8745) by ca350, on Flickr
  8. That is my understanding as well for diverted flight they are usually not allowed to disembark, mainly due to immigration restriction. If that was indeed the case for LH 790 and LX 176, those three to four hours at remote stands must be the longest three-four hours in their life. As for NZ, this diversion would have a wide spread knock on effect on their entire operation since NZ is running very short of capacity. Some B787 flight may be swapped to their recently-added ex-CX B77W ZK-OKU. ZK-NZM is now filed to depart from KUL to AKL tomorrow. Those pax could have been rebooked to travel to SIN via MH or SQ today early morning.
  9. Good news! Apparently they will receive another three additional B737 MAX 8 next week.
  10. Aren't A10 and A11 domestic gates? LX 176 was a B77W HB-JNG 320pax and LH 790 was A359 D-AIXN 293 pax assuming both were full flights. That's 613 pax in total. I am not sure if they are allowed to disembark if they did, that departure lounge would have been full. FR24 is showing LX 176 landed at KUL at 6:00 PM and departed for SIN at 9:42 PM; LH 790 landed at 5:05 PM and departed at 9:19 PM. Someone caught D-AIXN being pulled to the terminal but not sure which one. LX 176 from ZRH (B77W) HB-JNG LH 790 from MUC (A359) D-AIXN NZ 284 from AKL (B789) ZK-NZM SQ 319 from LHR (A380) 9V-SKQ
  11. Btw, if SKS Airways does collapses, Scoot will remain the only E2 operator in the region. As far as I know Embraer has visited Malaysia and the region many many times, and they are/were hoping to sign up more airlines for its E2 family. With only nine E2 operating in the region, I am not sure if Embraer is willing to invest its own MRO company, maybe SIA Engineering can take it up.
  12. https://www.nst.com.my/business/corporate/2023/11/980279/sks-airways-ceo-dzuleira-abu-bakar-resigns Woah, could it be possible that Malaysia will witness the collapse of two airlines within a year??
  13. The following A320ceo has been repossessed. A320-214 MSN 5661 VP-CBF Avolon ferried 16-17 Nov23 KUL-MCT-CAI-WOE ex 9M-DAC AirAsia will be taking over MSN 4126 9M-DAB, previously was with Thai AirAsia as HS-ABL. MYAirlines was supposed to take MSN 4655 as 9M-DAM, ex-Alaska Airlines N841VA. 14. Hahaha, unfortunately nope. Only saw the former B747-400 First Class (the one same as Thai Airways B747-400), B747-400/777 Business Class and some other recliner J class, I think from B737 Classics. Looks to be in good condition.
  15. Thank you for the additional information. Didn't know the simulator centre is also moving. Finally, after moving most of their operation to KLIA post-Idris Jala butchering in 2005-2007, now all operations, support services and HQ are consolidated at KLIA. After 16 years! LOL! Now, with SZB revival as complementary airport to KUL, what will happen to all the former Malaysia Airlines building near SZB?
  16. Malaysia Airlines Academy at Kelana Jaya has ceased operation earlier this week. The aircraft mock ups will be dismantled to be either destroyed or sold. The academy will now move to KLIA. Anyone has any lubang? Wanna buy some of the aircraft seats. LOL!
  17. Malaysia Airlines to decide on adding more A350s by March 2024 By Bilqis Bahari - November 16, 2023 @ 8:29am https://www.nst.com.my/business/corporate/2023/11/978809/malaysia-airlines-decide-adding-more-a350s-march-2024 Malaysia Airlines fully reinstates in-flight meal service offerings By Emir Zainul / theedgemalaysia.com 15 Nov 2023, 05:50 pm https://theedgemalaysia.com/node/690096
  18. Interior same as the newly refurbished B737-800NG.
  19. Finally arrived in Malaysia after all the delays.
  20. Yes, MLV has new cabin. The above list was given to me before MLV was released to service.
  21. Haha! Gotta maximise the utilisation rate of the fleet with all those new A320neo and A321neo!! Kind of curious the load factors. Hope to see them using E2 on Sarawak and Sabah routes. Routes to Sarawak and Sabah are like just one airline is good enough (but comes with expensive ticket price tag), if two airlines are plying, both will make loss.
  22. These two routes are only popular during CNY and occasionally school holiday. Singapore being an expensive destinations, and Sarawakians are known to be thrifty, to lesser extent poorer, the routes have death notice written all over them since their launch.
  23. Side note, yesterday the Coldplay management chartered a MH B737-8H6 9M-MXM for moving their staff from Kaohsiung, Taiwan to Jakarta, Indonesia. Coldplay is scheduled to play at Jakarta tomorrow evening November 15, 2023. They were performing at Kaohsiung on November 11, and 12. Malaysia Airlines used to fly to Kaohsiung as MH86/87 in the early 1993/1994, route was Kuala Lumpur – Kota Kinabalu – Kaohsiung 4 weekly with 737-400 Photo Credit: 陳彥銘 of 高雄機場航空器資訊交流
  24. She will do MH149/148 rotation to Melbourne and back for the remainder of the NW23 schedule. Then for NS24 season, she will solely do DOH MH160/161.
