  1. without checking the schedule, it has to be London (LHR & LGW) & some of the middle east countries like BAH, DOH, KWI.
  2. EK offers 3 daily flight KUL-DXB, 2 doing DXB-KUL-DXB & 1 doing DXB-KUL-MEL-KUL-DXB. By seat numbers offered, EK is the biggest foreign carrier at KUL, bigger than SQ & CX.
  3. After the pilgrimage, surely ALMOST everybody will load 30kg of check-in luggage to KUL. Sure business for both passenger & cargo.
  4. UL KUL-CMB & SV CMB-RUH less than 24 hours connection in between flights
  5. Who can advise me where can I find which airline has interline agreement with which airline? TQ.
  6. What is the scenario if I book segment A with airline A & segment B with airline B with 2 different tickets. Can the luggage be through though?
  7. Besides he 3 weekly services to JED (as compared to SV's 8 weekly to JED / RUH-JED), MH has increase the frequency to Saudi thorugh DMM (via DXB) and RUH. While SV flights is always full to the brim with umra passengers, can MH do the same with the flight to both RUH/DMM while the domestic RUH/DMM-JED/MED is by SV's domestic. Is it legal for umra passengers to clear immigration other than at JED/MED? 3 weekly MH to JED as compared to EK's 12 weekly DXB-JED on 380!
  8. So during check in at KUL i'll just present both the tickets & let them issue both of my boarding pass & through-check my check-in luggage then. Connection between flight is more than 2 hours.
  9. Hi! I've got a question on ticketing. Say I book a sector, say KUL-SIN with SQ with an online travel agent (say travel agent A) & separately I book another sector with SQ for SIN-MEL with another online travel agent (say travel agent . Since it's 2 separate booking with 2 different online travel agent, can I go to SQ office & get both sectors (KUL-SIN & SIN-MEL) to be a thorough sector, meaning I will only have to check in at KUL & my luggage will be checked-in all the way through to MEL without disembarking & embark again at SIN? TQ for any reply.
  10. With exception for the MEL-extension flight, there's a loaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad carried by the 10-abreast EK's 77W on the DXB-KUL-DXB route. So, the question is, which makes the most, inbound or outbound traffic. Judging by the extensive EK's network to the west of DXB, it might be inbound to KUL. But, it might be otherwise. Maybe somebody can shed some light. Of all the big three (EK, EY, QR) only EY still not increase their frequency. Their schedule doesn't permit smooth connection to most of the destination.
  11. A consumer's view Come come & set up fast ThaiTiger Airways or whatever it's called & fly south to LCCT with3 daily flight. If u can beat AK's average RM400 return flight price, who doesn't want to spend a weekend up north? That's marketing. Like VS's "NO to BA-AA"
  12. Why KUL is the diversion airport & not BKK? I thought the flight path will be nearer to BKK.
  13. Whilst more & more middle eastern carriers are coming to KUL, MH was not just silent about it & code-share with them to their middle east home base & beyond.
  14. Double check my ticket & it reads: Fare: RM XX Airport fee: RM 16 Airport tax: RM 25 Extra fee? Well, upon arrival at BWN, the aircraft parked at remote bay, we disembark through stairs & were bussed to the gate (Gate No. 8 which is the farthest gate from the immigration counter), then climb up building stairs to the terminal level. The width & height of the stairs is very2 small as compared to any emergy exit of any buildings in Malaysia. To point this, u can't even put a your maximum size-permitted-carry-on-luggage besides u on the stairs w/out the bag touching your calf. On return, AK used the aerobridge. As pax, didn't see where the extra fee went to. Maybe for me, for that RM16 I can see 3 BI's 772 which is all parked on both my arrival & departure date.
  15. Bought an AK ticket to BWN, one of the items paid listed as BWN airport tax of RM25. Then, when I check-in at BWN, the lady in red is asking me BND12 for departure tax & staple a tax coupon onto my boarding pass. Conclusion is I paid BWN departure tax twice. Can anybody explain this? What BWN tax is paid in the ticket to AK?
  16. I just wish that EK will step up the ante and introduce KUL-SYD if they can in addition to the MEL service. In the meantime, FOR D7, SEL done, HND done, now the chant is on SYD. SYD. SYD. SYD. Fight for it.
  17. SQ: 2x daily SIN-HND 77W to complement NRT service. MH: KCH-BKI-HND 3x weekly 738 + 2x daily 772 NRT service. AK: 3 weekly HND service with D7's CEO is seeking & pursuing a daily service. Let see how is D7 offering the HND sector. When SQ launched it, it's promotional ex-KUL fare is around MYR 1800.00 return, but now stands at around MYR 2.4k.
  18. Purely from paying passengers' view: In 2002, the full-fare return Y-class ticket for KUL-BKI sector is MYR874+TAX. Cheaper option is YEE30 fare which is priced at MYR689+TAX. If I'm not mistaken, YN flight fare is in between the full-fare & the YEE30 fare. And of course, at that time, MH is the only carrier plying the route. Post AK entry for the SZB-BKI and later KUL-BKI route, let's look at both AK&MH ticket price for the sector. I believe it's always and always lower than the cheapest YEE30 fare of RM689+TAX. Form consumers' point of view, we want better options and value for money for the services. Deregulation opens up competition, lower down prices and provides better services to consumer. We ain't EU, thus both competitors are local-born company. That's a relief, or don't they? My 2 cents view.
  19. I think Malaysian aviation enthusiast will try & prefer this emerging WY as compared to the traditional EK, EY, QR, SV & GF. Even better if JED route is also served by their legendary 332/333. So much of a positive report on them lately as someone describe it as the hidden jewel. More options for umra' pilgrims from KUL then. Now MH, SV, EK, EY, QR, GF, MS + future WY & RJ. More middle east tails are good for the scenery.
  20. Good day! Will be doing KUL-BAH-JED & return in early May with a GF complimentary stopover in BAH. Have a couple of questions for those who had experienced the journey. 1 Which hotel & hotel area will GF put us in & what's like the general view of the hotel in terms of food, accomodation, location & services? Intended to visit Bab Al-Bahrain for some souvenirs. 2 What is the average load factor on both KUL-BAH & BAH-KUL for this time of the year? 3 I'll have 5 hours of transit time @BAH on the return leg. Shall I want to leave the airport & go to town for food (just for the sake of leaving the airport & not paying the reported airport restaurant's overpriced meals), can I get a free transit visa? I'll be in a group, thus we can share the return cab fee to town for more & cheaper meals options at town. Shall the visa fee is exhorbitant, we'll weight down the options. 4 Which 343 will GF use on the BAH-KUL-BAH leg? My search provides that GF operates 2 configs of 343: 1 10F24J257Y 2 8F24J217Y Any leads is appreciated. Regards emirates
  21. I believe the splitting of once daily 333 to double daily 738 KUL-MNL-KUL is a good move by MH. Been on the 734/333 for the route for so many years, man, the flight's passenger composition is almost 15% malaysian & 85% pinoy, and the flight is beyond 80% load factor each time. Many of the pinoys are transit passengers as you can see while waiting for boarding at the gates at KUL. If u see the check in lines at NAIA T1 MNL for the gulf region-bound flight, you can see a loooong line of passengers bound for Middle East, be it on direct GF double daily, QR double daily, EK daily, EY daily and 1-stop KU. Alas, MH only fly its bird to DXB and JED in ME. SQ is very big in MNL with previously thrice daily flight (1 773 + 2 772). Been on all the 3 MNL-bound on SQ, there's lot of OFW there conencting from their country of work. A lot to be tapped if details study is put into this MNL case, IMHO.
  22. Mine will be Homegrown MH (772, 734, 744, 332) AK (733, 320) Regional SQ (310, 343, 772, 773) CX (333) CZ (320, 752) HU (738) MF (752) Other WN US AA
