  1. Probably for meant for the Sultan's B747-8i and other wide bodies at His Majesty's disposal (A340, B744, B762 came to the mind) so he doesn't have to do touch and go anymore.
  2. HU - Hainan Airlines 787-8 for me . The interior feels like a Chinese restaurant in the West. I don't feel it's cramp at all
  3. Thought they already had already been upgraded a wee while back....?
  4. The boat ride takes about 3 hours between Labuan and KK from memory?
  5. Ditto! It is has long been a regulated in both Australia and New Zealand since more than 10 years ago!
  6. Can a 737-800 perform a 7-8 hours flight non-stop? KUL-BNE is around 7-8 hours. It will be slow as well compared to the wide bodies.
  7. I think the Thai livery looks great on the A380. So is Korean Air's existing baby blue livery. Don't forget Etihad's Diamond livery too. I don't think Swooshy livery looked bad on the A380, as long as they don't crop the Wau.
  8. Glad to learn that the Wau will be placed centrally and not being cropped by the edge of the tail. Cropping the logo at the edge of tail looked so cheap and tardy. The swoosh livery is much better than the silly Landor designed A380 livery to be honest. Has any of the A380 been repainted yet? Why wouldn't they just change the livery to standard swoosh livery if they have been repainted?
  9. Really? Or just Malaysia alone? I have problem with the Batik font. It is not unique enough and looks to be very standard and does not complement the South East Asian vernacular culture well enough.
  10. Cant wait to see the frontal shot!
  11. Sounds like "Fiji Time" to me!! Anyone who has been to Fiji will know how slow the natives Fijians are at work, hence the term "Fiji Time" was coined by tourists. While the ethnic Indians there are operating at normal speed. I am not making this sh1t up as I have been to Fiji to witness this myself!!
  12. So it seems OD is going to propagate and expand their fleet with B737-800? Any incoming B737-900ER? How many B737-900ERs do they have so far? By the way, it seems they are rebranding this year to Batik Air Malaysia after a year of announcement Malindo Air plans more rapid expansion in 2017 as it rebrands, and closes in on Malaysia Airlineshttps://centreforaviation.com/analysis/malindo-air-plans-more-rapid-expansion-in-2017-as-it-rebrands-and-closes-in-on-malaysia-airlines-315448
  13. Is Xiamen Air a seasonal charter or scheduled flight?
  14. http://www.stuff.co.nz/business/89284372/aviation-expert-says-singapore-airlines-new-wellington-service-off-to-strong-start
  15. Qantas and Virgin Australia have FREE connecting shuttles between the airside of domestic terminal to international terminal. The buses travel at the airside and quite pleasant sight if you are into planes as it pass through Qantas maintenance hangar as well. I would imagine KUL's offering will have to pass through some existing under tunnels as they already do and perimeter roads along the airport vicinity.
  16. The First B747-8i ever landed in Malaysia?
  17. Keyword "Vested interest".... which could translate to contracts and projects!!!
  18. Haha I knew you were going to say that. Very true!! But I expect the government may build some institutional buildings there at least. To date, nothing what-so-ever was done to the site, except half-arsed demolition of the old facilities.
  19. Haha look at the old TWU... sitting their rotting away and they still have no clue of what to do with it. The residents of TWU found a new use for the runway though, which is drag racing....
  20. Haha... Suzanne is implying that pax entered the plane via the a-hole!? (Just to be cruder!) lol By the way, wonder if the B717, DC-9 or MD-80s and MD-90s have the same back door as well? D.B.Cooper surely has given the backdoor a run for the money!
  21. Ahh ha ha...spot on, Mr. Kee. Planning on getting the B748 from PEK - CKG and B789 from SZX to PEK. Both Air China. I tried to get the evasive B748 between SHA to PEK in October 2016. Instead I was slapped with a B747-400.... not that I could complaint.... Could also do either CA or KE to the West Coast of US with the B748. I wanted to get onto the B753 and B764 between SFO/ LAX to JFK on DL.... Airfares are so cheap these days and Air China does offer some crazy airfares to the West Coast of USA. HK$3800 return and tax inclusive HKG-SFO... Alas LH doesn't use their B748 between HKG and FRA anymore.....only A388 or A346.
