  1. Generally it is backlit in the early mornings. Conditions "improves" towards afternoon. Iran will usually pass Viewing Mall via taxiway Golf as she usually parks at Bay C12/14/16/21/23/25. Mahan and Eva on the other hand will use taxiway Hotel at the further end from Viewing Mall (nearer to Cargo and LCCT).
  2. The "Oh Tahi Banyak Tajam" (s#1t Sharp) Moment! One Point for Canon One point for Nikon
  3. During our meeting with MAB, we are told "ONLY TO SHOOT" BIMAN. We are "NOT ALLOWED" to shoot other airlines. So what do we do about that? We just oblige and shoot "BIMANs" la :db: This "BIMAN" (FedEx) A300 is a real work horse and is dire need of new paint. Without wasting too much time, we quickly took out our gear at the substation to get "BIMAN" test shots. Our first subject "BIMAN" (Emirates) 77W. Although we don't get street 'tiangs', we do get bigger and fatter tiangs to be in our way. This "BIMAN" (US Air Force) C17 caught us by surprise. Got to know form MAB patrollater that this C17 was rejected to land in SIN earlier. Still have to avoid tiangs Also more tiangs. After going through the tiang hassle, this is the reward.
  4. She was a rival to the 747s, L1011s, bridging continents, capturing the imagination of many with her unique tail engine. Hundreds flew during the 80s and the 90s and were the pride of many airlines, But today, she is a fuel guzzler and uneconomical to be maintained. She is the DC10 and the only airline in the world that still operates the last passenger version is Biman BANGLADESH AIRLINES. But not for long. The last of her kind and the second last to be built, S2-ACR (New Era) is counting her days to retirement. Having to know that her "supposed last flight" is on 6 December to KUL, we have embarked to document this historical event. And after many many days of discussion with the relevant authorities we have been given a GO to do the coverage. Meeting with MAB and going through security protocols and presenting a memento. Then we are off to get our security screening, clearance and to be escorted.. to be continued...
  5. Caught this afternoon, after heavy rain Reach 182, C17, arrived 1650 LJB1092, A318, arrived 1745
  6. Haven't seen so many non-common traffic in SZB in a day for sometime... Nas Air, 9M-ACM (Eagle Express) arriving from Nouakchott, Mauritania for maintenance Hak Air, a Nigerian operator will be taking over ex-Batavia 734, PK-YVN. Hope she sees better days there. There were three sorties from USS George Washington to SZB. The first was caught by MdSaleh in the morning. Here Greyhound #35 leaving around 1245. At around 1630, Greyhound #27 came and left half an hour later. Lastly, we have AirAsiaX coming in from Beirut, carrying our Malaysian Battalion back from their peacekeeping mission. And she left for KUL, two and a half hours later.
  7. Hi Capt Nik. Great to hear from you and organising this event again. Would like to work with you again. Thanks.
  8. Continuing where I left off. The VIPs are treated with dance performance, a way of showing them Malaysia's multi-cultural society. Other formalities such as speeches, memento exchanges are next. Welcoming speech by Dato' Azmi Murad, Senior General Manager, Ops Services, MAHB. I got to know that it is a KLIA tradition for every new aircraft or new airline that lands in KLIA, there is always a cake cutting to commemorate the event. Waiting waiting for the media to board the 787. Once all the formalities are done, we were then ushered in. Captains busy with paperwork. Generous seating pitch for Biz Class Posing for 'romantic' flying experience. Reclining the seat into flat bed Having a feel with Boeing's Sky Interior Wide and spacious flight deck. Everyone is just super busy The moment all passengers been waiting for. Boarding. Mwingers on the prowl... Apologies for the blurriness. Everyone is just excited!.
  9. Sharing with you guys the event last Saturday. Royal Brunei had setup a counter for media pass collection beside the Airport Security Pass Counter. We were then being directed to proceed to the satellite terminal via the standard security clearance. Apologies for not having any photos on these. The welcoming event was at Gate C2. Last minute preparations were being completed by the Royal Brunei staffs, MAB, event management personnel, dances and caterers. There were two Niner Victors and a few Mwingers, including Norman on this inaugural 787 flight to Brunei. However, like the many other passengers, they need to wait at Gate C4 and not able to join in the festivities. With BI 871 at the East Coast, expected to arrive on time at 1115, C2 apron and the water canon are ready to welcome KUL newest visitor. Like many other spottings in KUL, one can never miss a shot where a plane 'kena tiang' of any kind. This one particularly, the big tiang has been Photoshopped while Brunei 871 was being ushered by a Follow-Me truck via Golf, Sierra 6 and Sierra 10. The moment were all been waiting for... Salute! Spray! Clap Clap Clap! Click Click Click! Do bear with me the amateurish and slanting video recording of the water canon salute. A few more close up shots. The 787 was suppose to only use the first aerobridge for door 1. However, it is parked in a way that only the second aerobridge can connect to door 2. Stay tuned...
  10. Continuing where Wai Peng left. Pictures taken at Song Shan Airport (TSA). Weather was beautiful With local Taiwanese spotter on far right and Airway Author, Manuel Negrerie in the middle.
  11. End of lease. Formerly Our Airline http://www.planespotters.net/Production_List/Boeing/737/23635,VH-NLK-Our-Airline.php End of Life. Formerly MK Airlines http://www.planespotters.net/Production_List/Boeing/747/23071,G-MKHA-MK-Airlines.php
  12. Fantastic Chung!. Thanks for the update. Enjoyed it very much.
  13. Different paint scheme "does determine" the weather conditions when departing KUL. Thanks MIR for highlighting that the same aircraft was caught 2 years ago in a different dress. Nov 2011 Nov 2013 CanForce 1 was suppose to pick up her Prime Minister at Bunga Raya. ATC doesn't allow the A310 to reposition to Bunga Raya as the apron was blocked by Perdana 1 (Comlux) A320 the entire afternoon. So the Canadian Prime Minister and his entourage had to drive out into the remote bay A54 to board.
  14. CC-150 Polaris, A310 Air China departed sharp at 1400. http://www.malaysianwings.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=18719&page=2&do=findComment&comment=334202
  15. AirChina carrying President Xi Jinping and his entourage. Departed sharp at 1400 for DPS for APEC Summit after a 3 day visit by the Chinese President.
  16. 9M-MPK - Eagle Express Air 8042 with 65 POB departing for JED just after a storm. Thanks Norman for the info..
  17. From last week. A delay of more than 30 minutes, holding short of taxiway Hotel for like 10 minutes before proceeding to Kilo for Rwy 15 departure. It was a bonus for all of us. She had to wait for a few Firefly, Berjaya, Malindo and private aircrafts to depart before her turn. Her support. How I wish it was a C5. Then again, beggars can't be choosy. Later part of the afternoon. Dutch Lady came over to have her body check up and trying on a new dress
  18. Arrived this afternoon, during lunch time. Comlux Malta arriving from Macau as MLM 021. Either dropping or picking High Rollers. A surprise for today, Basler BT-67, fka DC3, came for two TnG before going off to Kamar. More flight test I guess
  19. Malindo third ATR72-600. Delivered early this morning and went straight to work, non-stop. His Royal Highness, The King, departing back to Kedah for Hari Raya. Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Maaf Zahir & Batin.
  20. Reduced frequency. It departed later part of the afternoon
  21. Alpha Bravo Delta 1006 arriving circa 0730 with TUDM's new toys. She was delayed by 10 minutes. New chevron nacelles Giving birth to first of twins A closer look at the chevron, 787 like, nacelles As of 1730, she was still at Transmile's apron with rear cargo door open and GPU running. Maybe might depart tonight. Malindo..... Why Why Why? Atr with Bandit's mask is really cool!
  22. Wonders of lots of Blue Tag and desperation to shoot and video record at that same time. Thanks flee for this candid shot. Permission to use this photo
