  1. I happened to watch Majalah 3 on www.tv3.com.my. It is a report on Routes 2007 in Stockholms, Sweden. With that report I learned that Routes 2008 will be held in Kuala Lumpur next year. So.... Anybody here involves in anyway in this event? What can we expect from this event?
  2. Is it possible for MH to buy this... n then sold it back after a year or so? or lease it to others, AKX for instance? So they'll get the compensation and money from lease...
  3. that depend on how many competitors MH take into account. if MH think they have 40 competitor and each competitor take 10 new aircraft, the number should be 400 plane this year and next year

  6. I've flown in ATR of Aer Arann DUB-CRK It is indeed comfortable. Relative quiet as compared to Saab 340 of Logan Air/British Airways DUB-Londonderry

  8. Hey that why I always fly with MH whenever I fly home for my holiday. Although I have to pay about €200 more with MH as compared to EK. I am feeling at home even before they are cleared for push back.

  10. I would like to suggest that MH would produce more aggresive, memorable advertising campaign. AFAIC MH Advertising seems too conventional and too conservatives. In the age of Web 2.0 MH should make take advantages of it. Take Frontier as an example.
  11. Why not? If we just throwing ideas here but nobody dare to foward it to MH board of directors of course it will be ignore. Don't expect MH directors to read MWing. By the way an idea must be support with commercial reasoning with no emotion involve. If the reason rationale enough maybe some idea will get through.

  13. I may sound as Idealist but.. MH used to have a multi billion Ringgit losses a year. The previous business model is not functioning with MH business model. Now by increasing the mentioned item it allows MH to get rid some of its financial burden and recheck their operating foundation, allow rooms for expansion and the most important of all it bring MH financial situation back to healthy. It is important for MH to impress their investors first rather than be popular. Maybe it is a short term profit (by short term I mean 5 years planning). To remain profit of course a lot more to be done. I believe if MH financial is not healthy, no Bankers will invest in them due to lack of action taken to prevent MH losses. If MH were to keep business model it adopt previously then MH should have been declared Bankrupt years ago. As a Malaysian although we have AirAsia to be proud of, but if MH going bankrupt or were sold to foreigners all Malaysian aviation enthusiast should be mourning. Singaporean may be proud of it SQ, not only it is profitable but it is run by their own. Can UAE people say the same with EK? So If you are the MH CEO who inherit 100 billion losses. What would you have done? If I am, I think, I'd do the same with IJ. Of course like being said everybody can do it but it seems only IJ who really have done it.
  14. Let count MH flies 7 times daily SQ flies 6 times daily AK flies 2 times daily Tigers will probably another 2 times daily do KUL-SIN that lucrative to support 17 flight daily?
  15. And yet again I am so disappointed with the Government for that... It seems to me that now AK KUL-JHB now as good as gone, Now that AK have KUL-SIN twice daily. Why would anyone fly to JHB if they can land at SIN, right? except of cause MH! so where have all the inspiration to build JHB as WPI aviation hub?
  16. Maybe JB people prefer to fly with MH. All my flight between JHB-KUL is always full...that is when I am back to malaysia that is I'll always take the last flight JHB-KUL. KUL-JHB I've try the one around 14:00, around 10:00 and the first flight out of KUL Or is it because no AK? hehe

  18. I still can't fathom the rational of building new airport... capable for B747 landing even. Since there are two under utilized airport in Perak namely IPH ngan taiping. Instead of expanding IPH for A320 landing.. might as well expand for B747 rather build the whole new airport. then build new health centre within the airport boundaries connect with HST to KL. If the company really want an airport than buy IPH from MAHB like Syed Mokhtar did when he bought JHB for intergrating all port in JB. that may save millions.
  19. Hmm Good argument :clapping:.. so basically you are suggesting, start small before expanding with a bang, right? SilverJet operates wit B757. Another open question... Given a choice, what kind of perks will you all be clamoring from "Business class only" flight service apart from late check-in, a gourmet meal, very comfort seat on board,and computer station on seat, for let say short haul from less 1 hour to 1 1/2 hour flight, for medium haul 2 hour to 3 hour flight, and for long haul 4 to 5 flight?
  20. I have to agree with you with that.. Why do you think that it would probably be a narrowbody? I think the medium size plane like B787 or A330 offer more spaces thus more amenities for this type of service. The way I see it, narrow bodies like B737 or A320 doesn't have enough space to accommodate business class level. Hmm maybe for 2 abreast seat will provide enough space but that won't be helping the plane to break even.
  21. What I think if the route is beeing open to AK then Tigers will be wanting the same perks too.
  22. Today I read Europe's Time Magazine. There 's an article about "all bussiness class" flight of Silverjet between London-and New York is getting crowded with almost daily flight about 70% of capacity. If this bussiness model were to be implement here in Asia, How viable would it be? with route like SZB-SIN, SZB-DEL, SZB-DXB, SZB-PVG, and so on?

  24. Maybe not since politicians will definitely be flying in GCC. But one or two politician may mention this in Parliament just for the sake of talking, debating, and of course bashing MH!!
