Norman 1 Report post Posted July 24, 2005 Fendi, I did posted this trip in the MH Family post, remember ... Was actually looking for the regulars ... Azahan, Not me nor my wife the lucky charm, 'cos the Thurs session, we only catched MH & AK only But this trip and the 1st trip with you guys Syakir aka Norman Jr was around... He's the lucky guy... Xiamen was captured in F6.3 1/400 ISO100... Jonathan, that B737-700 is without eyebrow and is a brand new plane for Xiamen Airlines I didn't know that... I know part of the trade is to know each and every aircraft's history but hasn't acquire that one yet... Maybe Syakir can... Some more guys; the same Arab tucking-in his gears; Same guy as no.2 above short trip to KUL?? and late rotation The BKI Survivor ... The best I could do to immitate Azahan's technique... --more to come ... pls bear with me ,.... hahaha...-- PS to Hazani & Nizam Don't worry guys.... I'm still with the Simming world it feel just like a spottographer who sent in his Bigma 500mm lens for servicing; that's how a simmer felt when his RAM is not in the PC.... --

Liau 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2005 Norman, what camera r u using? In my opinion, handshake seems to be visible in the CX shot. What's the shutter speed? Overall, very nice! Shot this few months ago... HZ-AIY 747-
Norman 1 Report post Posted July 24, 2005 Liau, I'm using a cheap prosumer only... Pana Lumic DMC-FZ5 It has Mega Image Stabiliser... ie without that the CX even worst The pix was taken at F6.3 & 1/160sec... However, surprise of the day was this KiloXray I tought she gonna join the queue at CharlieOne, but instead she turned on DeltaFive, Taxied on Charlie Onto CharlieFour Line-up on Rwy OneFourRight (intersection departure...) Spooled up her engines infront of us (Weather Stn near CharlieFive...) And Rotate almost to the end... What a sight!!... And all the time at least two 737's are holding near CharlieOne and that they've to wait to clear the wake turbulence Could be a ferry flight.... --
Jonathan Kong 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2005 i think that is Charlie 4 right? when i was spotting last time... i saw that as well The pilots must be having fun
TK 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2005 Norman, the love of aviation...spotting can be done alone, with Jr or families. C4 take off by the airbus is normal. 777 does it too, only when we are light. All depends of take off weight and power setting, if it allows such position to take off...no worries. Bare in mind, runway shorter..something happen before or at V1, stop distance available is critical, within limits.

Radzi 2 Report post Posted July 24, 2005 Err.. Please allow me to ask one question: What's so great about the Xiamen 737? Without eyebrow?? What is eyebrow in terms of an aircraft? 3071[/snapback] The eyebrow is those little windows above the main cockpit windows on the 707, 727 and the 737. It is those windows that the first thing a pilot will do entering the cockpit is to get some A4 paper to cover the window with. Or as I said it, a design mistake by Boeing, that's why the latest 737 don't have them because Boeing finally realized their error.
