flee 5 Report post Posted January 21, 2017 Finally opened my 2017 account this morning. Was a bit lazy to go plane spotting lately! Some fellow MWingers helped to kick me out of bed and we arrived at a foggy SZB. So we went and had some teh tarik before starting our spotting session. There was the usual traffic and then two specials in the intermittent light conditions. 9M-FYD has a new coat of paint and special livery - Discover Selangor, The Heart of Malaysia And then we got a surprise - the Philippine Air Force C-130T

Chaity 1 Report post Posted March 26, 2017 (edited) French Air Force is moving over to SZB after completing their LIMA 2017 appearance. French president is paying an official visit to Malaysia tomorrow. Just a few shots to share for this evening. 2x Rafale and A400M 2-seater Rafale landing after their 2 times of fly past while TUDM's A400M waiting for take off 2nd Rafale landing with our typical rainy afternoon weather This French Air Force A400M decided to add a bit of fun by going around 2 A400Ms in one frame with Firefly grabbing the front seat for the mini air show Edited March 26, 2017 by Chaity
flee 5 Report post Posted March 27, 2017 (edited) Very nice, Chaity! This morning the Rafale discarded its bulky drop tanks and rocketed into the skies, disturbing the peace of the Subang suburbs. It did a solo and showed off its capabilities to the top brass at the RMAF Subang base... Edited March 27, 2017 by flee
Vicknesh PS 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2017 I noticed, even in Langkawi, the Rafale can light up just one burner.... Nice pics by the way...Subang must have been wide awake Sun and Mon.
flee 5 Report post Posted March 28, 2017 I noticed, even in Langkawi, the Rafale can light up just one burner.... Nice pics by the way...Subang must have been wide awake Sun and Mon. Thanks. I think it is possible due to the fact that the Rafale C is a fly by wire aircraft. AFAIK, it does not feature thrust vectoring. Today, the weather took a turn for the worse but the show must go on for the President and PM. Here is the Rafale sitting on the runway awaiting clearance. It sat there for about 10 minutes... Away we go... Rafale C shows off its all weather capability as the skies opened up!

flee 5 Report post Posted April 1, 2017 (edited) It has been a busy week at SZB this week! This afternoon saw the arrival of the Breitling DC-3 on its World Tour. The weather was not good and the light was weak. But we had a good number of spotters turning up to greet this grand old lady! The weather was not good and the light was weak. But we had a good number of spotters turning up to greet this grand old lady! Yup, she is indeed a classic beauty. Had the chance to meet this lady in person a few years ago at RAF Waddington (WTN) together with the first civilian blue and yellow jet team during the annual Waddington airshow...hence my avatar haha.
