szesyn 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2018 Seems like Xpress Air has stopped/suspended services to KCH from PNK. If so, then I am not surprised. With high fares, old equipment and stiff competition, one is bound to give out.

Muhammad Firdaus 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2018 Well, there goes another airline. It will be very interesting to see how AK and IW fight it out on this route. Price wise, AK seems to be much lower.
szesyn 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2018 Well, there goes another airline. It will be very interesting to see how AK and IW fight it out on this route. Price wise, AK seems to be much lower. Yes indeed. The thing though about XD is that it offers something that AK and IW do not - onboard stretcher services - the one thing that contributes to the medical tourism between PNK and KCH. But then, I found out that some of the private hospitals here started offering trans-border ambulance services. That I suppose spells the death knell for XD since their passenger fares were not cheap - something like RM400+ one way from KCH to JOG via PNK.
Prestley Shim 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2018 Time to revive the thread..Here are some of my favorites throughout these few months.Starting off with some fighter action.M45-06 and 07. Southeast Asia's very first A320neo. Still shiny. One of AK's newest member of the A320neo family, 9M-AGV. 9M-AJS which at the time of posting is a KCH hub aircraft with her new paint scheme.9M-MSE rotating off runway 07. Caught myself a Scooter rotating off 25, shot from the tower.9M-AGP, despite being one of the 9M-AGx series, this one is an A320ceo. These old dinosaurs are still around. And here's some ATR action. Muhammad Firdaus 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2018 Wow, great dynamic shots Mr. Prestley starting with our two top guns, and the tower shot is particularly spectacular with the right amount of motion blur for otherwise very dull traffic at KCH. Thank you for sharing.
Samuel Chy 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2018 just realize that both Negaraku livery is actually representing each state of Sabah and Sarawak with the state logo.. nice shot there Prestley~ despite the dinosaur, but still a nice livery

GeO 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2018 Can expect the return of the D7 A330 to Kuching form 8 to 10 May. AK8672/8673 respectively. Arriving Kch around 12.40pm then departs 1.45pm to KUL. A dummy booking on AirAsia website confirms this. One of the new special livery that was based in Kuching hub this year. Prestley Shim 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2018 (edited) The only GE14 upgrade for this year by 9M-MTL. Very disappointed that AirAsia X pulled out eventually after keeping our hopes up. Edited May 8, 2018 by Prestley Shim
Prestley Shim 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2018 And also some rare cargo action. As I understand, this is the only Malaysian registered 767 and the only one in Raya Airways' fleet that can be fully tracked on FR24.9M-RXA Boeing 767-223(BDSF)
Prestley Shim 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2018 Some shots from March to revive the thread. Dinosaur touching down. AQX rotating off a wet runway 25. Wingsair from Pontianak, now operating only once daily instead of the hyped twice daily when it was first launched. One of the MASkargo workhorses Uniform Alpha pulling up at the cargo bay. And some late morning terminal shots.AHE which was based shortly in KCH hub. AQN from Singapore.
Prestley Shim 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2018 Some from May and beginning of June. Scooter Baby Bus arriving in the morning. 9M-AGQ WingsAir back to Pontianak. Prestley Shim 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2018 Second time MH sent one of their leased Air Berlin A332s was on the 4th of June. This time it was 9M-MTU with this KCH sector being its second domestic run after BKI.Toplit afternoon sun. Turnaround was well underway. Ready for push! Sun had disappeared for a moment. Noticeably shorter and stubbier than the -300. The latest upgrade from MH on the 9th of June. A very unique day because KCH had not one but THREE A330-300 flights for Raya. One was a normal upgrade whereas two were extra flights. 9M-MTK operated the first two (afternoon and late evening) with the last one (night) done by 9M-MTO which saw the two A333s parked together side by side at bays 8 and 9 respectively. I only managed to catch the first afternoon one. Weather was being nice with the afternoon sun. Waited a little longer to catch this little one. Cessna again for a warmup.
