Gulf vs other airlines

Just watched this on the BBC website about the competion between Gulf airlines and EU / US / CA airlines.

My thoughts are that competion is good and the point they make about the best equipment being used on routes where there is strong competion and other routes getting older aircraft seems quite normal or maybe im just used the MAS situation with a different regional product.

That is really a case of sour grapes. Cos some EU airlines simply can't compete. If you are running a business you will always deploy your best equipment there the return is best. That is just common business sense, isn't it?

 

That is why we say that competition improves the breed!

1 The introduction of long-range 345/346/77L or even 77W.

before the introduction of those aircraft, the kangaroo route or south asian-americas, journey from say south asia to the americas always stops at europe. same analogy goes for any kangaroo route, secondary airport to hub to asia stop (BKK/SIN/KUL/TPE/HKG/SEL/NRT) to down under. but now, there is an alternate hub located at middle east which can be created by this new-range aircraft.

 

2 Better service (IFE/food/aircraft/amenities) by middle-east airline

ME airlines generally has the youngest age of fleet as compared to others, thus availing them to the latest input by all the hardwares (seat,aircraft). Food is also not mediocre as no complaint to far for the increasing numbers of passengers who were made avail to halal food now. might be the booze that made those caucasian happy.
