Juergen Witte 0 Report post Posted July 3, 2009 From july 22nd Zest Air will operate thrice weekly Cebu-Zamboanga-Sandakan with MA-60 ! Here´s the schedule: CEB - ZAM 1030 - 1150 mo/we/fr ZAM - SDK 1245 - 1405 mo/we/fr SDK - ZAM 1450 - 1610 mo/we/fr ZAM - CEB 1650 - 1810 mo/we/fr So, it´s going to be the first regular MA-60 operation to Malaysia (it´s unlikely Merpati will use them internationally - if they ever use them regularly ...) Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted July 3, 2009 Excellent piece of information; hope this will take place, though, as the previous YS-11 really never came off the ground... Still looking to be on a MA60 flight, so this might be the chance (depending what they charge, ofcourse)...
Waiping 12 Report post Posted July 4, 2009 Whoa! Will definitely try to catch them in Sandakan.
Radzi 2 Report post Posted July 4, 2009 The previous 2 YS-11 operators didn't last very long, so if anybody want to catch up this one, better be quick.
Geoff R. 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2009 Just checked Zest Air's website and nothing on there about a new service to Sandakan neither is Sandakan listed as a destination on their online booking system. Seems strange for a service that is supposed to start in only a few weeks time. Anyway the MA60s sure look nice in Zest Air's colours - lets hope the service does at least start. Teo CK 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2009 Their online booking system has not included Sandakan yet.... but their online flight schedule does show the the ZAM-SDK sector.
Juergen Witte 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2009 Well, I´m curious, too whether flights on that route will commence timely ... After their second "incident" at Caticlan they may be a bit short of MA-60´s for their whole schedule. If they´d operate according to schedule they´d need four MA-60´s but due to "incidents" two out of five are "not operational" So, i wonder how they can manage to even add a route ...
