Ian Moy 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2008 Hi, The 2008 Australian Defence Force Airshow was held at RAAF Base Amberley, QLD on 4 & 5 October 2008. This show was the last opportunity to see the magnificent F-111 in action at their home base, and as a rarity on RAAF Airshows, the flying display was held with the sun behind the crowd line. Pitty the RSAF F-16 or USAF F-15s did not fly. Herewith a few photos of the local fast jets: Hawk jet trainer. F-111C We probably wont see this again... Low level Dump & Burn on the go around. Fl Lt Aaron Ward gets airbourne to start the solo F/A-18 Hornet display. The 2008 4 ship Hornet Display Team, 'The Purple Cobras' run in from crowd right.
