  1. Daniel, it was raining cats and dogs in KUL and almost for an hour an a half there were no a/c taking off or even landing. Many were diverted to JHB, SIN & PEN. Believe MH714 was also stuck in that mess.
  2. Heavy rain in KUL caused some massive amount of diversions.
  3. As much as you love supporting the old MH, let me just correct this one thing. Since when was MH "focused" on anything in the past? FY looked good on its own but the normal joe wouldn't know the mess they were also in. As far as I know and remember, they we're rebranding both MH and FY into a low-cost carrier; fighting head-to-head with AK. Never that I have seen MH wanting to rebrand itself and "focus" on the premium pax. It is similar to telling your child to behave when the parents themselves do the opposite.
  4. HJ, the AA shot is simply breathtaking! Nice series and looking forward to more!
  5. This is probably the most accurate statement so far when it comes to the maintenance. At the end of the day, it all boils down to the company and their policies. As far as an engineer is concerned, his work is to ensure that the aircraft is airworthy. Sometimes there are defects (such as the air conditioning being a little too hot on ground and many others) and these defects have already been identified. They are most of the time deferrable (depending on the defect) and to be rectified within a time period as recommended by the manufacturer and it all boils down to the company's policies in getting the a/c out of the scheduled flight, having the necessary down time for rectification, spares readily available and many other factors. There have been other known incidents where people kept doubting if maintenance was actually performed or not e.g. no airconditioning on ground, toilet being unserviceable, etc. These doesn't mean that the aircraft is going to crash if it is not rectified, just how much importance is placed by the particular airline in getting these fixed if they have a time period to be rectified. 2 cents from a maintenance guy's POV.
  6. Have to agree to the many sides of a coin. There is already an ongoing MoU between AK & SAE (Sepang Aircraft Engineering). It's not just that easy to ditch a MRO who's business is only about maintaining your planes. Unless someone can proof in black and white that the HMV/OMV contract have been given to MH E&M, better not to point fingers unnecessarily.
  7. I just see it like this. Those days when we go to the bank to deposit cash into an account, we do it over the counter for free. With the emergence of cash deposit machines, deposits over the counters were charged a service fee. If we can deal with those machines, I believe the self-check in counters will be a no-brainer at all. Or to make it simple, pay if you want the easy way out.

  9. A/C only left PEN for CRK early today. Flight routing was TLS-SHJ-PEN-CRK.
  10. Price increase from 50-100% for uncovered parking & parking lots located almost a distance away from LCCT. It was RM40-60 previously, and now cost RM60-RM120.
  11. I wonder what's driving them to raise all these taxes. Offer airlines to land for free, park for free and charge the passengers flying in? On another note, they also decided to increase the monthly parking fee for staffs working around the airport too! Greedy, very greedy indeed!
  12. To be on the bright side, I think it is a good move. Especially, no more buyouts can be expected after this. Hopefully!
  13. I can only exactly echo your sentiments, Capt. Just sounds a little too fishy to me.
  14. 9M-AQC arrived today morning via SHJ from TLS.
  15. Flight crew, maintenance & cabin crew have all already started training since last month.
  16. HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA!!! This is MEGA EPIC. http://jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=7158321&showcomments=true#comments N Razak = Najib Razak????? Thank you KC for exposing the syndicate!
  17. 23/07 - Although some quarters claim that people here should wear YELLOW on Saturdays, but somehow or rather today was a BLUE day in KLIA. Starting off, Chaity & Yong decided to wear BLUE today, so somehow or rather, they have a tendency to attract traffic of the same colour! No doubt, the BLUE I was referring to was this, A6-EYE. Dedicated to Keith who couldn't get a proper shot of it a few days ago. Very often this BLUE does not taxi in front of Anjung Tinjau and exits rwy via taxiway Hotel, but I guess you know why it did today. PH-BQB coming in from Uncle Pieter-land. Besides that, traffic was almost normal for me except for this bird which just arrived at the same time as me. XY-AGC which usually docks in the LCC Terminal didn't do the same today. Took off about an hour later from bay B12. Chaity & Ong might have other shots which I didn't catch so passing the baton to the rest. Cheers!
  18. Somehow, they only appear when Chaity goes spotting Nice catch!
  19. And Suzuki san, many of us will still continue to "dream" to catch these two beauties at least once. Great catch and your persistence definitely paid off!
  20. All of them will be brought to Malaysia via MH. Liverpool & Chelsea will be flying in from HGH on the 14th and 16th respectively. Congrats to Capt Nik & team!
  21. TQVM Chaity, Samuel & Idham. Probably we need to ask Cikgu Kenneth if it was his tagline again that got on to another aircraft! What a streak for him! Anyways just wanted to share another shot from the other day. VIP treatment for this TH bird.
  22. Thanks for pointing out Iggy. From this link down here, it seems like that is a new campaign being carried out by MasWings. http://newsabahtimes.com.my/nstweb/fullstory/49056
  23. Free time today afternoon was spent @ SZB. Sorry for the picture heavy thread. Bomba's MI-17 - M994-03 9M-TGG appeared out of no where and seen here taxiing past the hangar with two other injured siblings. Maritim Malaysia's Dauphin 2 - M70-02. M53-01 decided to wink at me when Chaity turned off the lights. It is a sad fact that it is my first time photographing a MasWings bird. Seen here 9M-MWG taking off. Prior to this, they were having many sessions of EGR and kept giving me a false alarm that some other aircraft is approaching. M44-05 - also when Chaity turned off the lights!!! The one cekap thing about the RMAF is that they keep changing that sticker on the vertical fin of M44-07. Now it reads "53 - 1958 - 2011" compared to the previous "52 - 1958-2010". And this 737BBJ bearing rego HL7227 also appeared out of no where. From A.net, belongs to Hanwa Chemical Corporation. Taxi-ed to Skypark and 30 minutes later, steps removed, door closed, engines started and TAXIIED all the way to the open area behind the hangar rows for parking. Been long that I have wanted to catch this, finally got it and a nose shot to commemorate. 9M-TAG. The background will tell the make of the aircraft. Cessna Citation Sovereign - N338TM. N588LS probably heading its way down to SIN or somewhere else bringing the high rollers. Left not long after that. Have a great weekend folks!
  24. D72006 was operated by 9M-XXA to STN via DEL.
