  1. Nice catch! That Tu-134 is really jaw-dropping indeed and the appearance does somehow compliment the 'vintage' look of the aircraft
  2. This post is dedicated to Sneeze, MWing's resident HKG spotter Cathay Pacific B747-400 B-HUG decided to 'escort' my aircraft all the way to the gate upon arrival at HKIA, and in great light too! A rather cool pair of sunshades on a UA B744. Biman Bangladesh DC-10-30 S2-ACQ. Air New Zealand B777-200ER ZK-NKF preparing for an evening departure to AKL. Virgin Atlantic A340-600 G-VWEB 'Surfer Girl' Air Canada B77W C-FIVQ United Airlines B747-400 N174UA awaiting her next departure to Ho Chi Minh City.
  3. Really lovely colour scheme on the Avient M11F! Indeed it was such a pity that she was gone after barely one week in service with such an interesting airline (an Airliner World feature on Avient a couple of months ago comes to mind).
  4. Hmm I'm just putting up a guess as it was given a parking bay near the VIP complex and not thrown to the former Singapore Airshow site like other non-APEC related private jet movements were. However, it might be a pure coincidence and brought in some other APEC related commercially important person (CIP) from Hong Kong instead.
  5. Some photos of the more noteworthy movements during the APEC period. A pity the weather could be more cooperative though! Air China B747-400 B-2472 arriving as CA25 from KUL for his high profile visit to SIN for APEC. RA-86559 IL-62M arrived as RSD011 from VKO, allowing me to finally see, hear and photograph my very first IL-62 Cambodia Angkor Air A321 VN-A351 arriving from Phnom Penh as K6001, probably carrying the Cambodian PM on board. N767CW Gulfstream G-V from Hong Kong, with a high possibility of carrying the HK Chief Executive, Donald Tsang, to Singapore for the APEC meet. Other movements: Alliance VH-FKG Fokker 100 PK-OME Embraer Legacy ERJ-135
  6. 9M-AFJ was a complete surprise today with this interesting new 1 Malaysia special livery featuring Lat The red cheatline is especially interesting, giving the aircraft a rather 'reto' touch, while Lat's signature is also painted on the engine cowlings. The familiar characters protrayed in Lat's cartoons are shown under the cheatline, while Lat himself is seen enjoying a coconut drink on the tail of the aircraft. Love the stylised Malaysian flag on the tail though! G-BNLO operated BA11 today with additional "Face to Face" titles on the nose. Face to Face is a new campaign by BA where lucky business travellers based in the US get to earn a free return trip to any BA destination of their choice so that they are able to meet their clients face to face. More details can be found at: http://facetoface.ba.com/contest
  7. Thanks for the information, Pieter! B767-200ER N767A of Saudi Aramco arrived from AKL today. Always nice to see a large biz!
  8. Turkish Star Alliance A343 TC-JDL pushing back for an early evening departure to CGK as a continuation of TK66 from IST. I guess fate has a huge part to play when catching specials, as I had tried to stalk this aircraft for months on end only to have her come in when I was busy, or being substituted with a normal livery A332/A343 when I was spotting. Thus, I was extremely delighted when she appeared this afternoon when I had expected yet another A332 and I was stuck in the terminal building. Flying BluePH-BVB moments from touchdown on 20C.
  9. Today is Deepavali, which is also known as the Festival of Light. As much of a coincidence as it was, the sunlight this afternoon was the best we had ever seen for weeks! MK642 was delayed for 4hrs today and as a result, there was an equipment change from the usual A332 to an A343 3B-NBE with the new Air Mauritius livery. I can't particularly say that I like this livery, but it is nonetheless quite pleasant looking in my opinion (or maybe the blue skies did help too!) VH-VQH 'Go Roos' as 3K516 from BKK. PK-GPJ Garuda A332 arrived some 40mins earlier than her usual arrival time of just after 6pm. FedEx M11F N579FE basking in the last rays of the warm evening sun as FX49 from Memphis.
  10. JL719 was operated by JA732J One World this evening in gorgeous evening sunlight at last.
  11. Some photos for a change of scenery from the usual blue skies of Changi Beach to the Terminal 1 viewing mall The rather elusive new livery Garuda B738, PK-GMA finally operated GA891 instead of the usual PK-GEx series on Wednesday. As from MIR's post above, N888YF seems to be quite active in SIN recently. Here she was photographed docking at gate D37 instead of the usual remote stand on Wednesday afternoon as well. At the other end of the luxury scale, Air Asia 9M-AHO arrived shortly to park besides N888YF at gate D38.
  12. Thanks for the correction. Its really easy to miss out tt extra syllabus/letters in the middle! The daily QR638 flight has been changed to a B77W with effect from today. A7-BAO has the honour of operating the first scheduled B77W on this flight today, 02 Oct 2009. Many thanks to TTT for the heads up!
  13. Agreed! The weather in the morning was also truly gorgeous..until the haze suddenly rolled in later in the afternoon. Srichulak fighting a sudden crosswind gust while on final approach to 20R as TG403. Firefly ATR72 9M-FYG from Subang OE-LGS A319CJ operated CLU1 from Vienna this morning. The aircraft is operated by Triple Alpha on behalf of Stumpf Real Estate Group.
  14. Really love tt Air China / Sonangol Intl A318Elite, KC! The star of today was undoubtedbly this private B777-200ER of Mid East Air, N777AS. VP-BBW is a BBJ operated by Gama Aviation and is a repeat visitor from last year's inaugural Grand Prix in Singapore. Global Express OE-IOO features a unique sand coloured livery which reminds me of Saudi's current livery. VQ-BIS is another Global Express with an interesting cheatline. Though a normal bizjet, I personally love how this photo turned out. In addition to the last minute bizjet traffic, there was also a steady stream of B744s in the afternoon. "Silver bullet" liveried CX freighters are becoming rarer. Judging from the tarnished appearance of B-HKH, it is no wonder that CX is switching back to painting their freighters in the original livery using a new and lighter paint. Asiana Cargo HL7614 was delayed from ICN. ..as well as this KLM Cargo PH-CKA operating MP95 from AMS. Atlas Air N412MC operating GTI8227 and features additional titles near the nose as the aircraft is currently operating on behalf of QF. JAL One World B744 JA8913 arrived as the daily JL719 flight from NRT.
  15. Amazing photo of B-KPF's departure with the water being blown backwards by those GE engines!
  16. I have a photo of the aircraft, 9V-JEB which operated JX713/JX714 to/from Hong Kong on the day after the race but the photo quality is far too bad to share as the weather was simply terrible when she returned in the evening on the same day. There are 2 stickers at the front of the aircraft - BusAds (which printed the stickers) and SHAECO (Jett8's maintenance company). The huge Changi sticker is of course pasted at the back. Great Wall Airlines B744BCF B-2430 (formerly SQ 9V-SMT). A nice change from the usual B744Fs (former SQ Cargo)! After drooling at the excellent photos posted of her visit to KUL, she finally decided to pay Changi Airport a visit today. Thanks a lot to Pieter for the information! Not to be outdone, QANTAS from OneWorld sent in Wunala Dreaming again in superb evening light.
  17. MH decided to join its subsidiary and had recently plastered a number of SBST Scania KUB4s with their own full body advertisements. However, I personally still prefer the Firefly advertisement instead.
  18. Thanks for your luck. I had managed to get a photo of the bus this morning
  19. There are a few SBST buses with full body Firefly advertisements as well. I am still trying to hunt them down for a photo
  20. It was indeed great fun with Jerrold yesterday, KC. The Blue Line A310 above brought in the Liverpool team from Bangkok yesterday for their weekend match in Singapore. The Blue Line A310 arrived at Singapore at 1446hrs, which meant an estimated departure time of about 1215-1230hrs from Bangkok. Working backwards, this would mean that the team had breakfast at about 0830-0930hrs, thus it was highly probable that they had boarded this aircraft. The aircraft does matches the livery of the Blue Line A310 (blue cheatline on silver body). The exif of this photo showed that it was taken at 0701hrs, but that is probably because the clock of the camera was set back in the UK. In addition, the strong sunlight in the photo was also not possible in Singapore at 0701hrs yesterday. This would translate to 0701 + 0800 = 1501hrs local time, which is very probable given the arrival time of the aircraft.
  21. It was truly an amazing day today with great weather, great company and great subjects Blue Line A310 F-HBOY operated BLE921 from Vienna via Bangkok. QANTAS sent Wunala Dreaming, VH-OEJ as QF6 from Frankfurt this evening in excellent sunlight for once! After countless attempts at getting a decent photo of her, I was speechless with joy. Bangkok Airways A319 HS-PGX 'Hiroshima' rounded off a great day of spotting. Cheers!
  22. Nice catches Chaity! Great to see that there was sunlight when she came in on the morning flight yesterday:D
  23. Garuda Indonesia's A330-200 in the new colour scheme made a surprise appearance this afternoon as GA826 from CGK. A pity that the weather didn't cooperate this time around. I personally feel that the new livery is a great improvement over the old livery!
  24. Amazing ramp shots there, KC! Kianhong, lovely Nile Air. Glad you had manageed to catch her!
