  1. Sarawak government no money??? Hard to believe... Or money go to pockets of certain individuals only
  2. Yup as Radzi said, the spill over, or domino effect is wide. Many unhappy and confused passengers at KBR yesterday evening. Decide to cancel flight to KUL then PEN from KBR. MH1405 was supposed to depart KBR to KUL at 1950 but delayed to 0005 (20/02/06). Connecting flight to PEN has to wait to this morning. Instead, made a decision to cancel flight and just drive back to PEN through the Titiwangsa Mountain Range with my father, wife and 6 months old daughter. Safely arrived at Butterworth at 2.45am.
  3. Wow, so many Saudis coming, and its not Arab season yet in KL! But how can anyone be surprise, Saudi is one of the richest country in the world, and its not a democracy. The USA despite being the richest country, the President still has to answer to his people if he were to fly in such style. Didn't know the late Rafique Hariri plane is in Saudis hands now. It use to be blue in colour right?
  4. Wow, great pics here. Tony, are you using film camera? The noise especially on the Virgin Blue pics looks more like film grain rather than digital noise.
  5. Very much hoping for it. At least they can use their A330-200 to Penang.
  6. Waaa... Kota Bharu having its own flying school. The wind is very strong in KB. Very challenging then. The cadets there will have to get use to nasi kerabu, budu, bahulu and all those nice Kelantanese delicacies.
  7. It is mere rumour. I don't think it is true. However, Konica Minolta will cease its photography business. Sony will take over. Sad news. After this, Konica Minolta will be more of photostat business!
  8. This is certainly bad publicity for the F16 Block 60. Imran, got pictures of the wreckages?
  9. Hopefully at a lower price! hahaha But the dark side is always 'cheaper' here in Malaysia...
  10. Syed, your photos are excellent, as far as the capabilities of the Canon Powershot A400 is concern. That Jap guy, maybe not enough money to buy an EOS1D or Nikon D2X?!
  11. Congrats Norman. Looks like KLIA is Nikon turf! Well, I think a Canon user will strike back soon... maybe in several months time
  12. I prefer "OFFROAD KERETA CALAR BALIK KENA SOUND DENGAN WIFE"
  13. My family also pissed of by PER custom officers... 'serunding' also want to confiscate!!!!!!
  14. Please don't upgrade the current terminal. I like the 'kampung' atmosphere of the current terminal. Can simply walk to the tarmac to take photos of Twin Otter take-ooff/landing. But please add a nice and decent cafeteria... not the current one! Anyway, Mukah is a nice and peaceful place. The beach looks nice but too many logs and the sea is as said before...too 'milo' like!!! The people in Mukah also very nice, would like to visit Mukah again soon. My last and first visit was in September 2005 to Mukah and to Dalat (1 hour drive from Mukah town). Took a Twin Otter flight from and to Sibu airport.
  15. From the way the Deputy Transport Minister is replying, as if he is trying to downplay the seriusness of the issue or try to cover it all up
  16. For such arrangement to be realised, it depends a lot on how the authorities/government and enforcement agencies trust and respect their own fellow citizens. I dont' want to go into politics here, but with the ISA, OSA and the so many plus the recent police mishandlings of detainees, I doubt it will be easy for us. After 9/11 and terrorists, so many government are paranoid of their own citizens, the Malaysia and USA included. We might tell the authorities that we are doing it for 'good intentions', but as a lawyer in Perliament quoted several months ago to a Minister ...."All roads to hell are paved with good intentions" Sorry if i sound too pessimistic today...
  17. The bridge open already huh? Have to pay extra or not? Do I sense a Fear Factor Malaysia veneu in Langkawi...
  18. For some time, i thought TATA is the red MPPP bus plying the routes of Georgetown!
  19. ASEAN scholarship meaning having to gain entrance and study in Singaporean universities, namely the NUS and NTU. I think one have to be very 'kiasu' to get into one
  20. I believe it is every spotters dream that such arrangement becomes a reality, including here in Malaysia. However, aviation security is not confined to airport perimeters. It is far more important in what is happening inside the airport terminal, the aircraft hangers and on the tarmac. This is where the bigger security challenge exists.
  21. Experience once on a B747-200 from Jeddah to KL flight in 1994 after performing umrah(mini-hajj) after my SPM. 1 hour 30 minute after take-off, pilot announced the plane had to make a 'technical stop' but the pilot did not mention where. I thought we will be landing in Kuwait International Airport. The older people were really scared as if the plane is gonna crash. I wasn't scared because I knew there were 3 other engines. I was however angry because the announcement were made during dinner and we had to finish dinner quickly. Hurriedly ate up mine and help finished my grandmum's dinner too Those days, MAS still serve their famous satay in Economy. I was more surprise that we didn't land in Kuwait, but it was Dubai instead...yahoo.. but sorry-lah, at that time Imran still a baby larrr... We had to stay in Dubai for 12 hours before boarding a B747-400 flight from London to KL. Our luggage still in the B747-200 so we had to claim them a day after landing in KL.
  22. Thanks for the pics Raymond. So many Russians in KL recently huh. Putin even got time to personally visit Tun Dr M at his house. I think its normal procedures to fly in two similar aircraft for the Russian President. The USA also flies two similar aircraft for the their President. Which one is Air Force One, its anyone guess only. All these for security reason. I wonder if the US President were to fly into KLIA to disembark at Bunga Raya Complex, will the authorities close down the road and spotting areas near Weather Station or not. But I bet there will be Secret Service agents and snipers sneaking around the whole KLIA.
  23. What do you mean by spooky? Got ghost arr? I also want to know where. Is it in the middle of the 'thick' palm oil plantation? How to get there, have to walk from the highway near the Petronas Station is it?
  24. Very, very, very funny... can't help laughing so aloud in my room looking at this photo... Waaah, that kakak bertudung labuh dan berjubah with Olympus DSLR... really cool!
