  1. Doubt AK will have a hub in Labuan as it goes against LCC business model. Believe it more sense to have a hub at BKI but T2 is too small to cater.
  2. Doubt the 2nd LCC can compete with AK unless is backed by someone with a very deep pocket. Believe a regional carrier operating RJ will fare better.
  3. Apparently the baggage scanner at MTB is so advanced that can distinguished between Japanese Yen and US Dollars, genuine and fake diamonds, etc. That’s why KUL has one of the highest ‘lost luggage’ rate, especially true for Japanese airlines.
  4. Celebrate a lost making route? KUL/LAX has never made any money. The only reason why it is still online is to fly the flag!
  5. Apart from MH A380, don’t expect to see any other A380 to service KUL regularly in the next few years.
  6. Nescafe instant coffee and Boh tea is gourmet? EY class nasi lemak is comparable to 5 stars hotel? What a joke!
  7. MH needs Skyteam more than vv.
  8. Believe MAB and MH emphasized too much on tourists and neglected business travelers. KUL is probably the only airport constructed in the 1990’s with satellite terminal and train. Train ride and forest is nice for tourists but business travelers need speedy baggage delivery, quick boarding, etc. If time permit, travelers can always take the train to satellite for duty free shopping. Don’t understand why we can’t be more efficient.
  9. Believe few Malaysians take European airlines (LH, OS, KL) to the US. Understand to the US West coast, MH, SQ, KE, BR, CX, CA, NW (via NRT) are favourite. For East coast, MH, SQ, TG and CX are preferred. NW may extend their service to KUL from SIN if aircraft idling time at SIN allowed, else load from KUL doesn’t justify KUL/NRT/USA route. Unlike Government owned airlines, most airlines decide which route to serve on profitability. In the current era of Alliance, and hub and spoke model, as KUL has limited market potential and is better served by code share, Alliance or extension from BKK or SIN.
  10. Since AK has moved to LCCT, MH should move their international flights to contact pier for the convenient of transit passengers and save cost. It doesn’t matter make sense to operate two terminals at home base, where there is plenty of slots available at contact pier.
  11. Etihad will put KUL online when they receive more aircrafts. Doubt there is enough load for Aer Lingus unless they use KUL as a refuelling stop for Kangaroo route like OS.
  12. Asia Pacific airline failed not because of the Fairchild metro they were using. From day one, Asia Pacific airline routes and schedule didn’t match their targeted customers. Believe most Malaysians don’t have a chance to experience RJ, hence have the wrong perception on RJ. Personally prefer RJ over A320 or 737 on short haul as boarding and de-boarding time is shorter and has ‘the executive jet’ feel. I believe MH should be using RJ instead of 734 on many domestic routes.
  13. Previously Aeroflot, Ansett, ANA, BA, North West, Quantas, Sabena, SAS were here.
  14. If a 1000cc glass contains 500cc of water. Is the glass half full or half empty?
  15. Patriotic doesn’t equal ignorant.
  16. Why not tram? As it is cheaper to build and operate than monorail beside there is plenty of land available for double tracks.
  17. For certain, ERL won’t be extending to JB in the next 5 years as it was not mentioned in the 9MP
  18. Typical Malaysian politician, see a tree but miss the whole forest.
  19. A major obstacle for foreign airlines operating to KUL is about half of Malaysian population don’t travel on foreign airlines because of uncertain halal food. Hence, foreign airlines need to depend more on their nationals for business and it make more sense to operate via alliance. Further more, the cost of operating a base at KUL is expensive. Therefore fewer airlines choose to online to KUL.
  20. Malaysia Boleh? KUL traffic volume is only about 1/3 of BKK. If compared with DAC, may be Malaysia is boleh else is naïve. Without fifth freedom rights, doubt KUL sector is viable for Finnair.
  21. The volume of traffic in the city of Houston, London and New York is much higher than the whole of peninsular Malaysia. Hence, it made economical sense to have multiple airports. But doubt the volume of traffic from Malacca justified regular A320 or B734 service. Believe the Government should be focusing on improving the under utilized KLIA (e.g. extending ERL to LCCT) rather than spreading the resources too thinly.
