  1. No wonder my flights are retimed.
  2. Immigration autogates are back online, klia is back to normal.
  3. Not necessary, mahb still has rental/concession income. By removing monopoly/rent seeking mentality, operations will be more efficient and consumers friendly. Mahb is mandated to operate airport not retailer, eatery and hotel, should focus on airport operation only. Successful mall owner/management e.g klcc, pavilion, etc don't and don't need to own or operate retail, eatery outlets.
  4. Mahb shouldn't be allowed to operate retail shops, eateries and hotel; mandate all prices is either same or cheaper than downtown KL.
  5. It seems immigration autogates are still offline. WiFi at mh lounge is unavailable.
  6. It seems immigration autogates are still out of order.

  8. 21st August1420 hrs primary Core Switch 101 experiencing intermittent connections due self re-boot 1700 hrs secondary Core Switch 102 was activated 2000 hrs attempts to stablise Core Switch 102 connectivity 2015 hrs total failure of secondary Core Switch 102 22nd August 0200 hrs Core Switch 101 was reactivated. 0500 hrs KLIA War Room was activated. 1145 hrs, the Board has appointed Pn Jamilah DatoHashim to chair the Crisis Meeting at KLIA War Room. It seems core switch 102 was not on real time backup, hasn't been online for a long time or under maintenance. For critical system like in banks should have 3 systems. From delay in appointing a senior manager at war room mean mahb never consider the possibility of this type of interruption.
  9. Qantas Airways Ltd. will run marathon ghost flights from New York to Sydney carrying just a few staff to see how the human body holds up as the airline prepares for unprecedented non-stop services. Qantas said Thursday it will simulate the worlds longest direct commercial flight twice with a Boeing Co. Dreamliner as soon as October. The payload of 40 passengers and crew, most of them employees, will undergo medical checks and assessments. Another plane will test the London-to-Sydney route. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-08-22/new-york-sydney-ghost-flights-to-test-if-human-body-can-bear-it?srnd=premium-asia

  11. It seems security screening sop is inefficient. the person who man the screen also conduct search/inspect. hence, whenever, there is a need to search/inspect a bag, screening process is suspended. It is common to have queue 4/5 deep at MH j class check in counters during weekdays morning.
  12. Any crew seat near exit door 3, 4, 5 and 6? how many are willing to pay for row 5, 6 and 7 hot seat?
  13. Departure/arrival time is more for Chinese tourists.
  14. Delta Air Lines will shift its hub for flights to Japan to Tokyo's Haneda Airport from Narita International Airport by March 2020, in a move timed with an expected surge of travelers headed to the Summer Olympics. https://asia.nikkei.com/Business/Transportation/Delta-moves-Japan-hub-to-Haneda-from-Narita-for-Tokyo-access

  18. That is provided notice is well placed.
  19. If mh want to be profitable and survive will need this aircraft type for routes that is unprofitable for 738.
  20. I mean domestic pax check in at international counter and vs.
  21. What is the rational behind this arrangement? some pax will unknowingly check-in at wrong counter.
  22. The Roots of Boeing’s 737 Max Crisis: A Regulator Relaxes Its Oversight SEATTLE — In the days after the first crash of Boeing’s 737 Max, engineers at the Federal Aviation Administration came to a troubling realization: They didn’t fully understand the automated system that helped send the plane into a nose-dive, killing everyone on board. Engineers at the agency scoured their files for information about the system designed to help avoid stalls. They didn’t find much. Regulators had never independently assessed the risks of the dangerous software known as MCAS when they approved the plane in 2017. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/27/business/boeing-737-max-faa.html?action=click&module=Top%20Stories&pgtype=Homepage
  23. If airlines have regional jet range from 35 pax; it could provide daily service without incurring loss and upgrade seasonally.
  24. If demand is not there, shouldn't fly. With 4x weekly, how many people remember unless others are fully booked.
