  1. We will see... I don't have much high hopes. As long as the underlying problem is still there, everything is just cosmetic.. And the problem is gov interference and corruption.
  2. Competing in products and service offered la... Most people won't care about this football club sponsoring business.. I don't.. Especially a club that is not so popular and hardly anyone knows.. It doesn't add anything to overall flight experience..
  3. The MAS t shirt looks ugly to me.. like not much effort been put into it. just stick a logo there among the strips. In contrast Air Asia shirts definitely look better. I still don't see MAS getting anything out of the share swap thingy, apart from firefly jet being axed and now sponsoring ex-rival football club.. Nothing in the direction of premium airline and competing with the best in the class...
  4. Sounds like taxpayers' paid holiday trip for Abang Joharia and gang..
  5. Too early to praise them.. Apart from broad statements, they haven't mentioned anything specific. I haven't seen anything yet apart from flip flop regarding alliance and ridding of Firefly Jet..
  6. The new management should be made accountable for their decisions. The problem in Malaysia is that you can screw up everything and still heavily rewarded, then leave scot free.. Personally I see that the new management is already showing their stupidity and incompetency.
  7. On the other hand, the Malaysian Gov actually expect the Aussies to dangle an even bigger carrot for them. If carrot tempting enough, then they will allow the Aussies to set up an airline in Malaysia..
  8. Don't know how they come out with this name Sapphire.. Not that easy to pronounce. Later you have people pronouncing it as "saphree", "sapi", etc. Might as well just call them Firefly Jet to make life easy. But then again, the sinister plan is to rid off this thorn.
  9. Whether true or not, this ratio business gets more problematic as the number gets bigger...
  10. Yea.... but the absolute amount is different. If they keep using percentage, then the absolute difference will be even more.
  11. RM14 in main terminal vs RM7 hike in LCCT... Don't like it as it's imbalance. They need to justify their reason for the hike apart from saying it's still cheaper than other airports.
  12. Try send your stories to Malaysia Today. Who knows might get published.
  13. Even if there is one, it's as good as people interpreting and enforcing them.
  14. Support! Support! Go! Go! Go! This corrupt gov has led to so much problems. Remove the primary problem and hopefully things will fall into place.
  15. 'Rationalisation' means less choice or no choice at all, means high air fare, poorer service due to lack of competition and a big step into the backward direction. But guess it will be somewhat rationale to those few and their cronies in the airlines as they can make plenty of money. Consumers lose out in this deal. Sad this country is run by crooks and cronies. This deal will have lasting implications.
  16. It's not a bailout. It's a wicked way to neutralize your rival and humiliate them. MH does not need a bailout. This has been tried and did not work. Just a waste of public money. The gov just need to get their sticky fingers off MH. That's the root of the problem and has led to many secondary problems which we see now, incompetent management due to gov cronies (there are many capable people around, no need TF to take over), high cost from lopsided contracts, old fleet as too poor to buy aircraft until last minute. Get rid of the main problem, you will find things will naturally improve.
  17. The way I see it, FY is a good idea. They fight head on with Air Asia. This leaves MH to focus on more premium routes. Of course, MH will need to "hand over" some routes to FY, but they still keep the money in the family. In the meantime, MH will join Oneworld. New planes coming in. Perhaps this will mean more premium travellers, which in turn means more revenue. Extra income can even subsidize economy pax, apply heavy pressure on Air Asia and force them into defensive. So I feel the two airlines should be kept separate. I was looking forward to these interesting developments. It will be sad if competition is killed off through the backdoor.
  18. Perhaps this is why TF does not seem to be a bit concerned about Firefly. He knew he can finish them off from within. He has the game all in his hand. I wonder if the staff in MAS were ever consulted. This is the ultimate humiliation.
  19. Yes, shouldn't be allowed to happen. Just too much conflict of interest. Bad for MAS and bad for the public. Do you really think TF gives a hoot about MAS and wants to bring them to them former glory...
  20. Here The Age newspaper.. Not long ago I also saw news about this guy, can't remember whether it was The Age also or other newspaper.. http://www.theage.com.au/travel/travel-incidents/plane-rage-pops-businessclass-bubbles-20110727-1hzon.html
  21. His name and photo is splayed all over the Australian media.. Even if he were to get his PR, it would have been very embarassing. But he deserves it. Personally I hope troublemakers like him won't get PR.
  22. Guess further questions to clarify things a bit are, where the top management will be based? What's the scope of this regional or corporate HQ? In other words, is it going to be the main HQ for Air Asia group? We all know that TF bought a house in Jakarta, hates the traffic jam apparently. From what I can gather, for Malaysian op, its aircrafts and HQ will be based in Malaysia.. (Yea..of course). But their main HQ to oversee and run their regional operation (including Malaysia) will be based in Jakarta.
  23. It seems like they have given up fighting against the Arab giant. Just let the giant stomps them all over. Better deploy their few resources elsewhere.
  24. Very sad case for Malaysia.. Can't believe we will need to go to Indonesia for greener pasture..
  25. I remember Munir as someone who came up with the 1st wife, 2nd wife polygamy analogy.. It gives you a glimpse of the type of mentality and IQ needed to be a chairman in a GLC.
