  3. A passenger on board a Malindo flight to Dhaka was arrested after he stripped naked mid-air and harassed an air stewardess. Malindo Air, in a Facebook statement, said the incident happened yesterday onboard Flight OD162 from Kuala Lumpur to Dhaka. "The crew on board has followed the standard operating procedure to restrain (the) passenger from any further disruption to the crew and passengers on board. "The passenger stripped naked and started watching porn on his laptop, ignoring all those around him. The cabin crew approached him and politely asked him to put on his clothes. "He complied with their request. A short while later, there was some commotion at the toilet area and it turned out that he was harassing a stewardess," the passenger was quoted as saying. The man reportedly became aggressive when told to calm down, forcing the cabin crew to restrain him.
  4. OKYO: An AirAsia aircraft made an emergency landing on Monday at Okinawa’s Naha Airport because of engine trouble, China’s Xinhua news agency quoted Japan’s ministry of transport as saying. None of the 379 passengers and crew members aboard the AirAsia X flight bound for Kuala Lumpur were injured in the emergency landing by the Malaysian budget carrier. The ministry said the aircraft’s right engine indicated problems at 2.15am local time, forcing the captain to shut down the troubled engine, and declare an emergency landing. The aircraft touched down at Naha Airport at 3am local time. It had initially departed from Tokyo’s Haneda Airport.

  9. Malindo Air (Batik Air Malaysia) on Wednesday (17MAY17) updated its schedule, which sees the launch of world’s first Boeing 737MAX 8 service (7M8). The all-Economy Class 180-seater aircraft is scheduled to enter service on 22MAY17, operating on following routes. Current 737MAX 8 schedule is updated until 30JUN17 inclusive, and is subject to change. A man on board a United flight from Houston to Calgary, Alberta on Sunday, said a scorpion dropped on his head from an overhead storage bin and stung him under his fingernail, according the United and media reports. We were on the plane about an hour, having dinner, and then something fell on my head, so I grabbed it, passenger Richard Bell told CBS in a Skype interview on its website. Bell said another passenger who was Mexican told him, Hey, thats a scorpion, theyre dangerous, Thats when it stung.

AirAsia X flying to London, Frankfurt this summer PETALING JAYA: AirAsia X will return to London this summer with direct flights out of klia2, AirAsia group CEO Tony Fernandes told media on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland last week. Additionally, Fernandes said that Frankfurt will be added to the list of destinations for the long-haul arm of the Malaysian-based low-cost carrier, but it will be a direct flight out of Bangkok. According to German news agency DPA, Fernandes said he hoped to set the airfare below €200 (RM953) for the Bangkok-Frankfurt flight. “I would like to offer them for even less. Due to the low oil prices, we could even afford to set the airfare as low as €150 (RM715).
  13. Himalaya Airlines will be the latest airline to fly into Kuala Lumpur. The first plane of the Nepal-China joint venture will arrive at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport on Feb 10. There will be direct flights from Kathmandu, Nepal, to Kuala Lumber five days a week.
