  1. Am not sure if those routes(except Kuching) would work. The main issues lies on passenger volume. 70% average passenger load is not a break even value for low cost airline nowadays. Utilisation of regional jet would not bring down the average ticket cost this is very evident on many regional jet and turboprop operations around the world. Only potential long term survival of such routes depends on whether the state can attract people and industries that would drive the economy and it not being solely reliant tourism passengers.
  2. Scoot increases flights from Spore to Kuching Sibu and Miri. One leaves another enters lol.
  3. 24 MYAirline employees file claim over unpaid wages BANGI: A group of 24 MYAirline Sdn Bhd employees, represented by the Malaysian Trades Union Congress (MTUC) has filed a claim over their unpaid wages amounting to RM 200,000 at the Labour Department Office, here. MTUC secretary-general Kamarul Baharin Mansor, the claim was made after the airline had failed to pay the salary of the workers. "It should not happen like this, when the company has failed to pay their wages, we have no option but to come to the Labour Department Office, here to file a claim. "These batch of 24 workers were owed the wages of September and October, amounting to approximately RM200,000."
  4. Transport Ministry: AirAsia to suspend Singapore-Miri, Singapore-Sibu flights from Feb 21, 2024 KUCHING (Nov 14): The Sarawak Ministry of Transport (MoT) today informed that the AirAsia airline will be suspending their flight between Singapore-Miri and Singapore-Sibu from Feb 21, 2024. The reasons quoted by the airline via its Nov 7 email to Sarawak MoT were that they are receiving low load factors, heavy losses, and the decision was part of their attempt to rationalise their fleet operations and fleet restriction due to global aircraft shortages. The airline’s email also stated: “We will ensure all affected pax will be moved to fly-thru flights to ensure that they still get to their respective destinations. All passengers will be reached out to, to be informed of this by the end of this week and be notified of the next course of action for their affected flights”.
  5. Saw some photos it has the refurbished cabin.
  6. Am looking at the scheduling for the 737max it seems Manila, Singapore, Ho Chi Minh deferred with no commencement date. Meanwhile KUL-BKI will be receiving 2x daily flight from nov 21st onwards and being upgraded to 3x daily from Dec 04 onwards. KUL-MYY to have 1x daily from Dec 04 onwards as well. KUL-KCH to only commence at Jan 04 2024 with 1x daily. Its quite likely MAB will only receive 2 737max this year.

  8. Yea cause the initial prediction and multiple angle probably put it at a limit hence a BKI refuel is added. Like what happens if ATC incaps u at a lower cruising altitude on the majority of the trip or its a headwind mosty trip many variables at play. It is only halfway where i believe the crew found favorable margin that allows them to do the delivery nonstop thanks to higher cruise altitude and favorable winds. If i am not mistaken the SQ flights nonstop to US are on a350s that can carry 250pax and there's also the 160 seater ULR variant which has a lower operating empty weight and increased maximum take off weight. There's some info that the airline would get the 2nd frame delivered by march 2024. On the 3rd and 4th frame it is said those are expected to enter the fleet end of next year but the second hand market for the A350 is diminishing so am not sure how MAG would be able to source them by then. Used A350s are highly sought out since 2022.
  9. No passenger should be very light i see the plane being able to tolerate 18.5hours of flying provided theres no crazy 50knots or more headwind which can cut its flying range by 2hours if theres strong tailwind you can add 2hours on top of that 18.5hours
  10. 9M-MAH No longer stopping by BKI anymore. Will be direct all the way to KUL. No reasons given but i suspect at VCV on ground the range was limited but halfway they got improved fuel prediction from winds.
  11. MVA is coming on Nov 16th with MVD 2-3 weeks after presumably.
  12. Some internal photos show 9m-mah spotted already painted in Malaysia airlines negaraku livery in VCV but still on foreign registration as EI-HJZ.
  13. They've opened a new pool of LAE cadetship(via bank loans) only issue to resupply back manpower waiting for them would take years. Its the same issue plaguing pilots. This is not only happening at MAG but quite a number of airlines around the world such as SAS, air india, Qantas. HR have been viewing them as expandable overpaid noisy crowd that should at most be tied directly as an office manager that would eventually be replaced by A.I(which almost everyone else greatly disagrees upon) Any sound of safety regulation and cost and debt acquiring such rating and experties pinned onto the employee is seen as cost nuisance to revenue.
  14. Shortage of aircraft and no spares(1 tinnsy tiny unalligned turnaround to collapse the the whole thing) and as of few months ago +shortage of engineers. Up to nearly hundreds of engineers left this year from MAG. And you have the HR head always singing "who? dorang tak syukur? gaji dorang perlu tetap sama mcm ofis" each time someone argues about potential operational constraint from the lack of concern on manpower.
  15. The aviation industry there was very messy that the authority went for a big cleanup. It has improved significantly but u do still have some holes here and there still but its a lot better than what i've seen prior to 2015 which was insane and huge mess. Though they may have to check back again with control as Jokowi is seeking to open up again which may pose uncontrolled issues to repeat itself. Apart from our regular myairline we also have 1 casualty Myjet express cargo airlines. I think they only have 1 737 classic freighter left stuck in senai and most of the crew and engineers left. They used to have a very active Facebook account that has also been disabled now. The only good thing it is a pure cargo airline with minimal impact on consumers endusers. Raya airways and Kargo express might be feeling the heat as well with the cargo demand resetting itself as most parcels are now being repurposed back into 737/a320 lower deck cargo.
  16. It was a temporary curb back then to stop all aoc applicants. Cause that time any millionaire was trying to setup an unsafe/unreliable/non long term airline in indonesia like some pasar malam. It was also a kill switch for quite a few airlines in indonesia that needed to be shut down.
  17. MYAirline clarifies it still left with four aircraft, only six returned to lessors  MYAirline clarifies it still left with four aircraft, only six returned to lessors KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 6): Cash-strapped MYAirline Sdn Bhd (MYAirline) has issued a clarification regarding the status of its leased aircraft and licence, to address several inaccuracies and misinformation that have been disseminated through various media outlets. In a statement on Monday, the low-cost airline said that only six out of ten of its aircraft had been deregistered by its lessors, contrary to certain reports stating that the airline is left with no aircraft as all had been returned to its lessors. “Out of the ten aircraft previously under MYAirline's management, it has been confirmed that six aircraft have been deregistered by our lessors,” it said. Misinformation about MYAirline can undermine revival, says airline PETALING JAYA: Inaccuracies and misinformation in news reports about MYAirline has the potential to undermine efforts for its revival, says the beleaguered airline. The airline said such reports could hamper their efforts especially as they are currently engaged in advanced discussions with potential investors.
  18. MYAirline left fleet-less, all 10 aircraft returned to lessors CAAM confirmed to Business Times yesterday on the deregistration request of five aircraft namely with the registration numbers 9M-DAC and 9M-DAD on Oct 26, 9M-DAJ and 9M-DAL on Oct 27 and 9M-DAH on Nov 3. The sudden suspension of MYAirline's operations had partly led to the operating loss that SIA Engineering Co Ltd (SIA Engineering) made in its second quarter FY2024 result. Pretty much checkmate.
  19. Overheard FDP may be limited. But again mab can always reapply from cam. There's also no info if mab crew ate actually flying it or its the lessors team. There's also seasonal winds at play with strong headwind for any west bound flights going to nearly 100knots on certain corridor.
  20. My mistake on trial flight. Its actually a stopover in BKI during delivery. Apparently they cant do a direct delivery all the way to KUL as there is no dispensation from CAM to do so and MAB is still applying again to allow direct. Plane is coming from America flying east bound.
  21. 9M-MAH delivery est to be within next week with random upgraded trial flights into BKI.
  22. If SZB is to take full regionals the 10 atr bay would have to reduced to 8 bays to cater the wingspan requirement. If it is the 737/a320 again even further reduction and adjacent buildings needs some removal. Not only that the ramp strength and type may need some check. From the looks of it 1 bay has already been modified and redrawn apron to handle the E2 likely for the Embraer Demo flight. Malindo exiting SZB is not directly tied to competition issue. Malindo and Thai Lion Air was envisioned as a market disruptor on behalf of lion group for the thai and malaysia market and i personally think Malindo now called Batik Malaysia is tired of doing it and is going for sensible commercial operations(central asia, south asia feeder to aussie).
  23. Same thing with the a350 vs b772. For AKL the A339 over the A332 is advantage of payload mass plus as expected better comfort on the seats. Technically the a350 is not that suited for AKL under MH current yield management the a339 or 789 would be more suited due to lower fuel burn. When MH sent the a333 to akl they had to block 20 plus seats and no parcels on board. When they took the 6 air berlin a332 those planes could carry nearly 4tonnes more payload plus the aircrafts empty weight is lighter by nearly 6 tonnes than the a333 plus an additional fuel tank equipped. The a332 essentially can carry the same amount of passengers as the a333(amid tighter seats) and carry more fuel without hitting the max take off weight limit for the akl fllights.
