  2. Qantas has offered voluntary redundancies to its cabin crew in response to high oil and jet fuel prices as well as the impact of global natural disasters. Information about the deal was issued to 7,000 staff on Thursday. The announcement came on the same day the airline announced its international unit carried 509,000 passengers in April 2011, up 7.4 per cent from April 2010. Qantas last month announced it will lift the price of its European flights after the EU, under its emissions trading scheme, said it would force the airline to pay a tax on 15 per cent of its carbon emissions from its nearest port of departure. The airline's chief executive Alan Joyce said in March that it faced the most serious challenge Qantas since the global financial crisis was at its peak. "There has never been a time when the world faced so many natural disasters, all of which have come at a significant financial cost to Qantas Group," he said. "We need to act decisively to respond to rising fuel costs and natural disasters, just like we did during the global financial crisis, to ensure the ongoing sustainability of our business.
  3. Am surprised that you guys are comparing a low cost airline's livery to that of a 5 star airline and saying that MH one looks a little better.
  4. It doesnt quite work that way. You dont just give up because you think your competitior is better. No free lunch in the bussiness world. If you offer improved products over your competitor,be rest assured that people will travel with you. So no excuse for not having a better C product.
  5. Josh is right about the colors on the T7 C lass better then this one. Wooden flooring reminds me of MH 737-200 Is there a window in the toilet? cheers
  6. Thanks Jahur. WHats the xtra stuff that the SQ Y seats have on the right side of the PTV which are missing on the MH ones?
  7. Why does MH have more J seats then SQ?Is MH carrying more bussiness pax then SQ?Or will most of the seats travel empty? 30 seems to be such a perfect figure. MH new A333 - 38J + 245Y = 283 seats SQ new A333 - 30J + 255Y = 285 seats Seats on TG doesnt look comfortable tho. Hope they have anti slip covers!

  9. Joe bombe, why not clearly state your position with MH, since you have threated Azizul for a trevial matter. You couldnt be very busy if you have time to make fuss over a photo.
  10. Normal but new and improved I suppose?
  11. MH will benefit from this as it means any repairs or problems,no need to send or fly the engines all the way to europe, hence saving cost and time. Just a hop away to SG.Give the old engine back and get a new one,
  12. THe only people who cant seat at the emergency exit rows are pregnant women over 6 months, children and handicap pax. Being short isnt one of them. The exit frame weights 15kgs and if you can lift that youre fine. Hence there must be another reason for the move.
  13. FLight time between PERTH and BRISBANE is more than 4 hours. Unheard off for a domestic sector in Malaysia.
  14. When your own boat is rocking, putting your foot into another boat does help stabilise it.
  15. If its a hotel employee the hotel will shut doors and bussiness will close. I hope its not a cover up of some sort. Security cameras are always used in all floors of hotels and any movememtns into rooms should have beem captured by CCTV. How come we heard nothing? Hope MH will go all out for this one.
  16. At Jetstar safety is the prime concern. We move pax if needed to fullfil the 2 + 2 seating at overwings regardless how much has been paid. UNfortunately I cant speak about other airlines as they may have different procedures.
  17. As far as Jetstar is concerned, a minimum of 2 people MUST occupy each row of the emergency exits and the reason is for the opening of the window hatches. I notice asians like to jump seats at their own whim and fancies but westerners normally stay put at their seats even if the whole row acorss is empty and ask the crew permission should they want to move to another seat. At Jetstar, your are only allowed to move seats within zones as the a/c is devided into 3 zones and that also after take off. The above applies to A320.
  18. Oh Dear, guess thats absolutely right. What was I thinking.
  19. They should just rename the current ipoh airport as LCCT by lowering the airport charges to minimum to encourage someone to land there. At least no dollar of tax payers money will be used.
