  1. I agree with you Leon on this one,its like throwing a gold mine away..... Who knows mergers seems to be they way forward,QF/EK and KL/AF. And even then AF in big mess. MAybe one day to rival middle east and chinese carriers,MH may need to merge with SQ (and they too will be left with no option),providing unrivaled capacity/frequencies to Aus/Eu route, just to survive and yet stay profitable.Other viable option are to go to bed with Qatar or Etihad (with Etihad A80 flying now to Syd(Direct),maybe via KUL like Ek's Mel/Kul/Dxb).
  2. If Unsold, only option is to sell one stop AKL/LHR all 380 service, with one night kul stop over thrown in for 100 usd .Hold the bull with its horns i guess.
  3. 2 days ago on my way to MEL if flew MH Y KUL/SIN. Loads were 35 percents plus minus. During service I asked the crew if its possible to have a cup of tea and he replied sorry only cold drinks. Thats a new low for MH service. I was glad I was flying Qantas on the next leg.!
  4. oh for Fxxxx sake!Get him out from there.
  5. And the most well spent to yield results from the 6 billion wasted.
  6. Haha so true! Happens all the time on MH,the moment the meal service start and no sooner ting! No coffee no tea. !!
  7. Grou Ground staff MH failed misrebaly there. Bad planning on MH part for off loaded pax resulted in that fiasco. They always teach us Self restrain. I now understand why.If he felt he could not deal with that situation he should have walked away and let another collegue deal with it. One thing for sure on my last 6 flights on MH,is that its the Indian pax keeping their planes still filled and to and from Australasia. This segment of the bussiness if ignored will cost MH in the long run. As a matter of fact, they should capatilise on it. The thais are really good in treating this indian pax and hence why they love to travel via BKK. Also customer service standards are very high in the indian sub continent. Just go to a 5 star hotel or fly on Jet Airways and you will know why. They value their jobs. On a recent trip there I was surprised I could just add a few dollars more to change the date on my flight ticket on Indigo. Also the mobile check in agent for just walks around and assist pax, whilre carrying a small printer on his belt to print my boarding pass.No need to Q!Just bag drop.Or use kiosk like Air asia.
  8. So sad. If it was here in NZ or AUST,he would have been refused boarding as he poses a risk to the safety of the flight and police would have escorted him away.
  9. Hey mate do you have any concrete evidence on your allegation that MH only purchased the A380's due to Singapore airlines purchasing it, just being an image thing? Could the same be said about the purchase of the A330's n 777's then.because singapore airlines purchased it? Simply because I am sick of hearing this kind of slander remarks (they did it because SQ did it). They could have purchased it because EK bought them, judging by your criteria of image as they have way more then SQ? But hey I would like to hear from you first as you indeed may have that reasoning and proof that they indeed bought those because SQ did. However I do agree with you on the other point regarding the aging 772's and the subsequent point made.
  10. very nice but they should color contrast the carpets/seats not all blue.
  11. When i say its dated i am benchmarking it against changi or CLK Hkg.The day we start benchmaking it against mel or syd,it will be a total disaster.
  12. This kind of behaviour not tolerated in the aviation industry in NZ. They speak to you in civiilsed manner, will point out the weakness and strength.Be it in the flight deck or cabin. And they know very well the consequences otherwise.Hence everyone follows this protocol.
  13. me think it looks great soorox, just add a slanting red& blue/gold wau on tail and a tiny one world logo on the fwd of the malaysia airlines word and maintain the flag at the end of the same word.viola! it’s interesting yesterday I travelled back from akl to kul with EK as MH did not have flights on Mondays, so A380 to MEL and & 300ER mel kul. Whatever they did in terms of service was just what Mh use to do it its hey days. Hot towels to start with. good quality toiletries in toilet but they were locked in to discourage pilfirage.Mh needs to follow suit on this one saves a ton of $$ if your toiletries are locked and also a mouth wash in the toilet like Sq essential! Also get rid of the clumsy gigantic wine bottles and soft drink cans and introduce the mini wine and mini soft drinks cans like they did yesterday on EK. Also like EK and also QF drinks and food should be 2 different trolleys cause if on one like MH by the time the last pax is served, meals are cold ass. On Ek food trolley goes out and right behind is drinks trolley. On jet airways the order is reversed, drink trolley goes out and immediately followed by food. On MH only wines and juice is on the same trolley with the food cart hence restricting the choice or having one crew run a million times to galley back and forth to cabin. Yesterday I asked for a spicy tomato juice and a shiraz and she had everything on her drinks cart to serve on the spot. And KLIA sadly looks so run down and dated.
  14. you could be right,Choong. not too sure if they are awaitng delivery after rewwork to customers. But early built 787s best for short lease if available as suggested above. Leon, if assuming they do let go of the 6 A380's as per your suggestion.which a/c will be utilized for LHR/CDG route with available equipment?777 200? Also in my opinion after a 2 year wait for 773,and when they do get one, is will be an obsolete equipment. Which knowing MH will be used for the next 20 years.
  15. 1. 787 buy/lease those that are in storage. 9 units https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AtfsHdXQ5rl9dFp4b1hETmNQNzN0b2dSUlRNWEFOOVE&single=true&gid=2&output=html 2. Add 4 existing A380's to the present 6 (like those from cancelled skymark). this option is open for neg with Airbus for price and Mh does not need to buy simulator equipment like in option 1 thus saving millions.Hence all their long haul fleet will compromise of only one type of aircraft.Again this saves $$.and if they can work fast delivery is immediately. 3. A350 is not an option as MH failed to plan ahead and it will take years to obtain them. your thoughts guys?
  16. There are reports an aircraft has crashed in the waters off East Belitung, an island between Java and Sumatra, after an AirAsia plane with 161 people aboard lost contact with air traffic control Very very sad year for malaysian avition and malaysia as whole.
  17. Yes they are barking at the wrong tree. Since Mh cant compete with F class, they should introduce Premium Y that is similiar to QF or BA or even ahead a few generations. That will bring us inline with these 2 carriers on product offering, Jetstars Bussiness class (More akin Premium Y as far as the seat is concerned) always full on Sin Mel route.
  18. KUL ADL AKL? can pick pax up on across the ditch route. EK has quite a number if flights from bne, syd, mel to akl.Kul mel 7.30 hours, adl akl 4.50 hours.
  19. I generally agree with Dr. M's principles but sadly on this occasion I disagree. We must not be so full about ourselves. Having a "orang Puteh" as a CEO doesn't mean that all Malaysians are dumb.He should be given a chance to turn MH around and be more akin to SQ,profitable. He is being selected based on his performance and managerial skills in turning around El..Lot's of Malaysian's are also heads of western multinational companies and with the same token does that then make all westerner's dumb? Instead of making that blanket statement, Dr M should give his suggestion to who he thinks is capable to lead the airline then. Someone with vast experience to turn an airline around and proven in doing so,in Malaysia.Anyone? So please let this man do his job and don't interfere. if no positive contribution can be made by those criticizing. Our tax payers $$$$ all going down the drain year after year,by people heading the airline who has no clue on how to run an airline or even differentiate a 737 from a 320. Lets all criticize too. Kepala Batas MP Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican questioned the appointment of a “foreign expert” to head Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAS).
  20. Thanks for the KA info Isaac. Just noticed during CX seat selection that if you want extra legroom,USD 100 applies.Because my Brother in law is a typical Englishman,6 and the half feet tall, so was trying to get exit seat, Kind of sucks after paying a premium price for the Y tickets. Hahaha.
  21. Then its not all bad news they swapped KA for CX to Pen. Heard they are getting some new A330's too.
