  1. 11-abreast 380s... Can't be worse than 9-abreast 330s can they?
  2. I believe he means that Malaysian immigration will know you've been to Israel via El Al by looking at the exit stamps at Bangkok. Those Malaysians going to pilgrim at Jerusalem are likely going via Jordan or Egypt.
  3. Good luck trying to get this plan anywhere... The politicians over there will succumb to NIMBY's pressure and scuttle the plan, even if everyone knows LHR really, really could use 4 runways right now.
  4. Must be slow news days there... There was a post of Kosher meal onboard MH domestic flight in airliners meal thread back in 2008. Unfortunately crappy Imageshack seems to have lost the photos... http://www.malaysianwings.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=7074&p=163348
  5. Somewhat OTT but here's a list of the pilots' names according to KTVU
  6. Cabin shot of the aftermath: http://newsfeed.time.com/2013/07/08/photo-inside-the-san-francisco-plane-crash/ p/s it appears the a/c was still in older config by the look of the PTV.
  7. CNN has an animation on how the crash might have happened: http://edition.cnn.com/video/data/2.0/video/bestoftv/2013/07/07/nr-sfo-crash-animation.cnn.html
  8. Chinese news sources now report that at least one of the confirmed dead is Chinese; CCTV4 reports that both of them are Chinese. http://news.xinhuanet.com/world/2013-07/07/c_116435070.htm (Chinese)
  9. Breakdown of POB the flight from Asiana's FB statement on the disaster: https://www.facebook.com/FlyAsiana BTW is that me or it seems rather cynical that currently 203 people 'liked' that official statement...??
  10. SF Chronicle reports two casualties, 82 taken to hospital, including 40 serious injuries, and 60 more remain unaccounted for: http://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/article/2-killed-40-badly-hurt-in-SFO-plane-crash-4650259.php If the casualties are confirmed, this would make this crash the first 777 crash with fatalities involving occupants.
  11. MH has reiterated their intention to simplify its fleet to only a few fleet types soinstead of getting a new fleet type, they'd more likely get another few A380s if they need the capacity.
  12. My thought after reading the topic. That aside the heliconia-themed livery would look quite good on these 777s IMO.
  13. According to a BBC report, Australian Financial Review reported that a former Chinese prisoner claimed that "prisoners were made to work long hours and were often beaten", also only got paid US$1.30 per month, making disposable headphones for Qantas. The report also claims BA and EK also used the same supplier for their headphones. As if QF needed another bad publicity...
  14. Finally this is now official. One less hassle for my trip to JP later this year. Curious about "ordinary IC passport" - Aren't all new Malaysian passports now embedded with IC?
  15. Putin says Snowden is still at SVO: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-23053915 If you cannot proceed to your destination, and cannot turn back to your point of origin then it's pretty much like Mehran Karimi Nasseri found himself in.
  16. Maxim should've included photos of his legs and the food he was served - that would've made a great TR
  17. Totally agreed. Wholesale lifting is disrespectful to the author. I used to do this too but nowadays I'll summarise the contents instead. Also this is the first thing you learn while writing thesis - never ever lift the whole content, summarise or quote the relevant parts.
  18. I should've been more specific - I meant the border control needs better facilities that what it currently has. Having Biometrics gate would be nice, for example, or do they have that? And given the amount of traffic it receives ideally it should have bigger hall and probably more gates as well.
  19. MAHB will need to expand KBR and add proper border control facilities, pronto. Even without international flights it's pretty crowded these days.
  20. Not just MAS - SIA also commented per BBC: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-22902098 At the end of the day it's all about your company's policy on public disclosure of something. So long as it does not harm your corporate image and is by authorised personnel it should be a no-issue.
  21. Definitely a typo - searching for the registration shows HS-BBC as 216: www.airliners.net/photo/Thai-AirAsia/Airbus-A320-216/2258093
  22. Opting for A350XWB family would be better suited for MH IMO, as the family has sizes from 270 to 350 seats, which would be ideal for replacing the existing B772ER and A333, as well as narrowing the capacity gap between A333 and A388.
