  1. Found this video online, credit to its original owner. 9M-MTM Engine #1 emitted sparks upon emergency landing at KUL two days ago. A333 9M-MTM is grounded indefinitely for now. A333 9M-MTF is also out of service. MTF is the last A333 in the "swoosh" livery. A333 9M-MTH and 9M-MTN both have returned to service after its own respective episodes recently. A332 9M-MTU has been out of action for long time, perhaps in heavy maintenance. 9M-MTU, 9M-MTV and 9M-MTW are in "swoosh" livery. 9M-MTX, 9M-MTY and 9M-MTZ are in "Negaraku" livery.   2. The A380 all-blue livery was rumoured to have oil someone's pocket by handling the project to the famous Landor Associates. It was not required and not necessary at all. Well, on the flip if it was to be painted in swoosh red-and-blue livery, it would be even more hideous. The A380 with 90's cheatline livery when the order was first announced.

  4. Last night January 18, 2024 Malaysia Airlines A330-323 9M-MTM was doing flight MH190 KUL-DEL when suspected sparks were observed from Engine #1, returned to KUL. Airport Fire and Rescue Service (AFSS) was deployed in the event of any fire emergency.   5. One thing definitely for sure MH prefers internal candidates to replace him if he indeed chooses not to renew his contract. Save for Christoph Mueller and Peter Bellew period which they hired expat CEOs due to unusual circumstances, MH has always been headed by local Malaysians. Some has shown positive changes, some don't. Good grief, let it not be another Tengku Azmil....he was the one behind these two hideous livery.
  6. MAG CEO Captain Izham did an interview with BFM89.9 this morning January 17, 2024. I have not listen to the whole interview, but it sounds Captain Izham will not be extending or renewing his contract when the current one is due in November this year.

  8. You can actually book from Jaipur to New Delhi and take D7 back from New Delhi via airasia.com website. JAI-DEL leg is done by Air India Express, although I think it is more of an OTA selling the ticket and there is no interline agreement. Not sure why the official website does not allow non-stop return booking to JAI from KUL. You either transit via DEL or DMK via FD. In their app, it can be done.
  9. Let me guess, Capital A will be testing JAI and AMD out with AirAsia first, before deciding if they will move to AirAsia X. Previous rendition both were serviced by AirAsia X with A330-300s. Jaipur was one of the poorer performing routes before it was canned previously. Loads of promo fares going around, Jaipur could be cheaper but RM209 one way fare is now sold out: With this new addition, AirAsia operates a robust network of routes directly from Kuala Lumpur to India in both northern and southern cities.   10. The AirAsia X's order for 30 A321XLR was revised downward to only 20 back in 2019, the same time when they cancelled 63 out of 78 firm order for A339neo. Not sure if Airbus allows AirAsia Group/ Capital A to interchange its order, because they were two separate orders. AirAsia order was an upgrade from remaining A320neo order to standard A321neo. AirAsia X was A339neo with A320XLR bundled together. At the moment, AirAsia X's order for A339neo remains at 15 with 20 A321XLR. As for A350, I would think it is just bluff talk. Capital A currently has no financial standing to place such an enormous capital into a new fleet. Plus if they are to place an order now, the earliest they can receive is mid-end of 2026/ start of 2027.

  14. Hahaha, guess all the marketing people for both Malaysia Airlines Group and Lion Air Group do not take marketing communication and branding classes during their degree days. Originally built for Batik Air Malaysia back in 2017, but was reallocated to Thai Lion Air in December 2017, flew as HS-LAI and returned to Lion Air Indonesia October 2019, went back and forth between Batik Air Indonesia and Lion Air.   16. Started to roll out earlier this month. Subtle change only, the volour, cutting and materials are different than previous rendition. More noticeable in the male flight attendant uniform. Of course, they won't be able to launch an all-new uniform, if not later kena blasted by the public kao kao (just joking). I wonder what happened to their new uniform agreement with Farah Khan back in 2016??
  17. Well, I personally experienced differently while checking in for MH133 two days ago. All frontdesk staff were wearing the full uniform, and the support crew also dons their new uniform. Very beautiful to be honest. A departure from the past.....a good initiative to pay homage to our local tradition and heritage.
  18. Actually if you look at Malaysia Airlines closely, lately they have been rolling out their new marketing campaign and corporate revamp in subtle manner. The new uniform for inflight crew and ground crew, and the not-so-well-received new cabin for B737 fleet. At least now we have a confirmed logotype. However IMO, all these aesthetic makeover are redundant if their flight cannot depart on time, poor handling if there is a delay/ cancellation, customer services and recovery are in shambles. Let's not forget the poor inflight catering and IFE.......

  21. I don't think they have any more A320s left. I only saw 9M-DAB in storage in KUL recently, not sure if the owner has any new customer lined up. 9M-DAG is in airasia.com livery but stored beside Gate J4.

One of the reasons is because Mainland China tourists are now avoiding Thailand due to safety issues i.e. the recent shooting at Siam Paragon shopping mall killed two PRC citizens, this is the must-go shopping mall for affluent PRC tourists. Then quite a number of them were kidnapped by their own fellow countrymen in Thailand to Golden Triangle/ Myanmar borders to be scammer. Also with slowing China economy, the PRC tourists are now picky. They will either spend their money locally (as promoted heavily by local PRC governments) or if they are going overseas, they just want to spend their money on somewhere safer. Singapore and Malaysia are their top choices now in the region.   24. AirAsia X relaunches Jaipur with 4x weekly flight. AirAsia X first launched Jaipur in November 2017 also with 4x weekly service, with the first flight landing at Jaipur International Airport on February 5, 2018 and was dropped in March 2020 due to capacity management and COVID 19.
