  1. From http://www.airasia.com/site/my/en/page.jsp...manceStatistics Mmm... I am wondering how reliable these statistics are
  2. Yup... I've watched those and did not find them particularly interesting and inspiring. Does anyone know the purpose of these clips? Are they aired on TV?
  3. Not a surprise really... Once I had to wait in KUL for 5 hours because my flight was cancelled and I was put on the next flight. I had nothing much to do.... aircraft spotting: not many movements... boring; shopping: nah... not my thing; eating: cannot... it was during puasa; lounging: nah... dont have access... ; reading: how much can you read in a sleepy airport? so what did i do? I found a nice spot (away from the speakers with those annoying chimes everytime they make announcement) and slept for a good couple of hours
  4. I don't really understand why in some red-eye flights, especially the ones with midnight-ish departures, carriers prefer to serve full meal after take-off and a very small breakfast/pre-arrival snack. IMHO the other way round would have been much preferred by many...
  5. Hi guys! Found these vids on youtube. Are these new MH is Malaysian Hospitality TV adverts? Nice indeed...
  6. Dank je wel, Pieter! I sure did learn a bit of dutch! For a young person like me, it is always interesting to see and learn about what was flying like in the old days.
  7. ouch... Does MH also have a no-fly list?
  8. Mmm... interesting news. IIRC Air Asia once intended to make investment in Pacific Airlines but got rejected. Vina Air Asia was refused by their government also. No wonder lah...
  9. No lah... Remember the technical glitches during the website 'upgrade' not long ago? Phuket was one of the 13 (IIRC) unlucky destinations for which online bookings were unavailable. Apparently now the figure has gone down to 8... and unfortunately enough Sofian, Phuket is still on the list. On MH website, if you click on the IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR ONLINE BOOKING in the flight booking section, you will find this:
  10. My short and humble list... 1. Malaysia Airlines 2. British Airways 3. Turkish Airlines 4. Gulf Air 5. Air Asia 6. Ryanair 7. easyJet 8. Thomsonfly 9. Air Berlin
  11. yup, it was featured during the launching event, as seen in the short video clip...
  12. Found this short clip on The Star regarding the newly launched ambulift for disabled passengers. The Star and here's the news! Well done, AK
  13. Well, i know it's not exactly new news... but i thought i might share this with you guys... I stumbled upon this website and found it very interesting... It's a blog about BA's new subsidiary, OpenSkies. At first I thought it was a blog by an aviation enthusiast... but apparently it's written by OpenSkies managing director... a good marketing tool it seems... OpenSkies
  14. If i'm in AK marketing team, i'll respond with adverts saying that the RM3 per checked baggage is nothing compared to the MaHal fares the other airline is charging... but seriously, i agree that RM3 is just an introductory price... yes... i'm sure it does not last long
  15. wahh... ryanair is so quick eh? (ryanair = : hahaha... money money money...) i hope the charge is not THAT expensive... slightly OT; i remember when i was on an AK flight last year, i had to do some quick calculation so i used my hp... my hp was new then and equipped with flight-safe mode.... a gentleman next to me, being a responsible citizen, told me that i could not use the hp in-flight... i smiled and explained to him about the flight-safe mode... and he ended up belek-belek (playing around with) my nice phone
  16. i just quickly browsed thru royal brunei's comments on skytrax... looks like they are really going down the hill... just realized that they have been downgraded to 3 star... i always thought they were a 4 star
  17. sometime can be overfriendly too... haha... there was one time my friend (a girl) and I were passing through the kastam...i could recall the pakcik kastam on duty said this to my friend... " haiiiii cik adikkk... baru balik dari manaaaa?"... such a jerk... so gatal
  18. you see.... you could have easily been one of the misled passengers... just like what happened to my friend. sorry...not to nitpick on you, azri... but it can happen to anyone who are not properly informed...
  19. i think it is... it's brilliant!!!! asha gill is soo cute i might have missed it... but i think they don't explain about international-domestic transfers.... it is important to be informed that the domestic flights depart from the main terminal building.
  20. agree.. but i believe ryanair is one of the pioneers hehe... just a story to share... a friend of mine flew with an LCC when he was moving a few months ago... he paid for three checked baggage and happily thought that he got a 15x3=45kg baggage allowance... lucky him we had a chat a few days before he flew off ... i had to convince him that even with 3 checked baggage he would only have 15kg allowance... 15kg of combined weight that is... thank god he had enough time to re-pack and arranged for a courier delivery. i sincerely hope that the customers are made to understand clearly that the baggage allowance per passenger remains the same regardless of how many baggage you pay to be checked in... a bit unfair imho... you pay RM3 for one piece of bag of 15kg... RM6 for 2 pieces.. but also of 15kg... i understand where this is coming from; they just want to discourage people from having many bags hence to minimize the number of baggage to be handled... well frankly speaking, the charge of RM3 per baggage is, afterall reasonable.
  21. Yup... it looks pretty far. Any pics of the Food Garden? How's the food like? The variety? Is it cozy? Or is it just like typical food court you can find in shopping malls?
  22. the only reason I fly with ryanair all this while is their cheap fares... and luckily enough i have never encountered such incidents... i know i have been very lucky indeed. well, i don't fly that often... but the worst flight that i can think of is the one i took back circa august 2004, MH KUL-LHR. a few hours (approx 2-3 hrs) into the flight, the IFE stopped working... IIRC the only thing that worked was the map and the flight info... so 10 hours without IFE, can you imagine? it was just dreadful... even worse, it was a day flight; 12 noon departure, so many people could not sleep... people were clearly agitated... people walked around aimlessly... munched non stop(well...until they ran out of peanuts and snacks)... talked to neighbours(even though i don't usually do that).... looked out the window daydreaming etc etc... people just had to do something to keep them occupied... a large group of brits in the vicinity of my seat were drinking heavily, i could tell that they were getting pretty drunk, talking, laughing and even singing really loudly.. so there was a party-like atmosphere which for most of us, a real annoyance. i had to literally request one of the male FAs to ask them to keep their volume down... and jokingly asked him to stop supplying them with beer... he did try but with little succes... the FAs were very apologetic though...pity them... they must had been working under a lot of pressure having to deal with us moaning passengers....
  23. expected... sigh they are really following the footsteps of ryanair... up next: they will introduce online check-in and then charge for airport check-in. it is just a matter of time... i am just wondering how strict are they going to be with regard to the 7kg-one piece-hand luggage per passenger rule? i believe many people will try to avoid checking in their stuff and carry all as hand luggage. more hand luggage --> more competition in securing space in the overhead bins --> good reason to join the boarding scrum... oh well...
  24. very interesting and innovative there is a mention that these cozy suites are equipped with tipped-up seat pans to improve accessibility. these are just like the seats you can find in cinemas and concert halls... that means you dont have to fully stand/get out of your seat should your seatmates want to go to the loo/get back to their seats. pic 1 pic 2 mmm... that's true... i can't really say that i've got a whole row for myself, can I?
  25. Slightly off topic ... Just got an e-mail from AK advertising their new promo .... "Wanna get away this mid-year but feel the airfares are too 'MaHal'? No Worries! With AirAsia 'unMaHal' promotion a trip to Langkawi, Krabi, Phuket, Singapore starts from RM1 only!" I went to check the website right away... It's amusing to see how they are taking the piss out of MH=Malaysian Hospitality campaign...
