  1. IT WAS just a few hours after EgyptAir flight MS804 vanished from radar, later discovered to have crashed into the Mediterranean Sea killing 66 people. Air traffic controllers around the world were on high alert, so when Delta Airlines flight DL8957 from Germany to Kuwait strayed into Greek airspace around 7.10pm, they jumped into action. The Athens-based controllers issued repeated — and frantic — requests for the pilots to identify themselves but were met with silence. Due to hijack fears, the incident was immediately brought to the attention of the country’s Ministry of Defence by the Greek Civil Aviation authority. With no idea what was happening on board, two F-16 fighter jets were scrambled to intercept the “ghost flight”, which was at this point nearing Santorini, the UK’SMirror reported. This was standard military protocol. Source: http://www.news.com.au/travel/travel-updates/delta-air-lines-ghost-flight-over-greece/news-story/1d1cae2ef7325a8e525bb22750a9eda1

  5. Oh cr@p... does it mean the retro livery is going to be short-lived

  9. Neither Tawau or Sandakan, I reckon. It is Lahad Datu. Dropping off the Sulu separatists and immigrants to Sabah
  10. Okay Mr. lawyer.. calm down.. Some capitals and apostrophe would definitely be easier for the eyes.
  11. From Flyteam's article, it was mentioned that HS-TLC was sold to Royal Thai Air Force, possibly for Royal transportation. Good news, rather than having her sunbathing for years. Transaction info.: http://thai.listedcompany.com/newsroom/160520161907480973E.pdf TG is still trying to sell two other A340-500 (HS-TLA & HS-TLB), 6x A340-600 and 2x B747-400 List of availability http://www.thaiaircrafttrading.com/ Source: http://flyteam.jp/news/article/63657
  12. Yep, but they know well that the Tigerair brand is not doing very well. Tiger Airways Australia was involved in a suspension by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) in Australia and now completely sold off to another owner in Australia. I assume they don't want to use this brand for their long haul budget carrier, then Scoot was born.
  13. If it is a win-win model. Why not? Sounds like a revert back to the Malaysia Singapore Airlines model?
  14. Just change the bloody logo and branding to make it consistent, not the uniform... duh~~~! The uniform is fine and timeless, if it ain't broken, don't fix it!!!
  15. So is HKG still on? I am based here in HK, so I could meet you guys up at HK International Airport?
  16. Don't get me wrong, I like the Fluoro tone to it Looks pretty smashing!
  17. Quite fluoro red tone compared to the old colours - the old one was dark red (maroon).
  18. May be we will hear more of the stories once he left the airline and the country altogether. After the completion of his tenure, in September 2016.
  19. MH is not the only airlines that does that kind of thing... I have had CX did that to me. Booked on the 747-400 and ending up with an A340-313X, not that I mind, since it is a four holer to four holer swap. CX had done 772 swap on me to a 773 (non-ER). A330-300 to an A340-300 swap too. Best to secure your flight equipment through booking them with 2x 747-400. That way you have higher chances of not getting disappointed at the end.
  20. Thought the Hajj pilgrimage charters are just seasonal, do they really need two dedicated aircraft on full-time basis?
  21. Sorry, I wasn't directed at anyone, nor Flee. My apologies if Flee felt it was directed at him. Just getting the idea that generally some of us can be quite demanding at times. Yes it is the same Business and Economy class as the 777-200ER, the 747-400 has First class too, which the 77E lacked. Anyway, it is just an interim measure and aircraft, can't expect too much, nor can they put in old and new products.
  22. My only complaint is that if they are doing the exterior paint job, may as well do it wholeheartedly, rather than a half-arsed look. Only two items - bring back the Jawi script with blue background and paint the engines cowling silver or grey (ionized metal look will be ideal but have not seen it on any PW powered 747-400) Classic livery and classic interior - once given it will win more complaints than praises. No IFE, back to big screens, Seats may be comfy but good luck with finding the classic 747-200/300 products. What's next? Crew wearing old uniforms and old catering menu to complete with the package? Who would want to endure this kind of product these days? Not to mention how much business sense it makes. Hence virtually no airline with retro livery would want to fit old interior back. Iran Air is a different case. I don't know if complaining has fast becoming a norm for many Malaysians who are not contend with anything given and always want more and more they can bargain for....
