  1. My friend made a joke about this one, what if you download very large files (120 MB) from the net? with already so much expensive charge per MB, rather than you foot that expensive bill, you can just buy an expensive car...
  2. The SMS charge for MH flight is like 300 times the rate of SMS charge for the same line (I use student plan rate)...although cheaper for AK, it's still 200 times...
  3. Oh no ...I am very surprised by this incident, I mean really surprised...how can this be happen at an airline lounge. If this incident had occurred in some typical Malaysian public toilets, maybe that's a typical case, but in an airline lounge? Oh dear, it seems that some of us still have that third world mentality although we practically enjoy first world facilities. Even using some sort of corrosive acid is also not work?
  4. Wouldn't that be obvious that there will be overlapping of routes considering that both airlines will depart from the same airport and arrive at the same destination airport. A strategy to unseat Air Asia perhaps? Or in the end might as well cannibalize MAS itself...
  5. Regarding the route, I think it is maybe on the cards due also to stronger West Australian economic ties with Sabah. They (the guys from WA) already set up some sort of trade office here in KK after setting up one in KL...
  6. I can see DIAMONEY...A jewellery showcase? I wonder why on earth they use the departure hall for that?

  8. This is what the police said, "masuk boleh, masuk dalam pun boleh - you can enter, even can enter the building (he probably means can enter VIP building)", even got free food.. damn if I know that, I wouldn't waste RM11.45 in KFC...the photo was taken while I was standing at the fence area.
  9. 35 million? I think the capacity of MTB is 25 million since there is no record of expansion (excluding new LCCT construction).
  10. Taken just 2 hours ago.. Najib;s ride for the evening... Sorry for thee blurry image, was using my camera phone...the arrival of F28 carrying TPM parked next to the A319...
  11. cheer up! I am looking forward to see the Sky Interior!
  12. Japanese arrivals into Sabah are not merely tourists, some are working with Sabah government through various agencies and often their Malaysian partners are invited to join meetings/seminars in Japan... I know there are quite a number of Japanese who move here with their family... But, maybe as you said, a mismatch of resources...

  15. Thanks for info! So, how much does it normally cost a beginner to take a soaring/gliding course?
  16. June 27, 2010 22:45 PM Sabah To Attempt First Paragliding Flight From MT Kinabalu To Tip Of Borneo TAMPARULI, June 27 (Bernama) -- Come next year, plans are underway to notch up a record for the first paragliding flight from the vicinity of the summit of Mount Kinabalu to the Tip of Borneo, in the northern-most district of Kudat. Local paragliding company Borneo Air Sport Ozone Adventures is now working with the Sabah Tourism Board to see the attempt by a local in either March or April. The company's instructor, Bruce Patrick Soimil, said the idea came about after a German had hang-glided from Laban Rata at Mount Kinabalu to Masilau in 1985. Only this time, Soimil wants to take it a step further, and set a record for a local, instead. In an interview with Bernama Sunday, he said the company had identified a person for the record attempt and that the board's response to the idea was "most welcoming". Meanwhile, the Sabah Malaysian Borneo XC (Cross Country) 2010, the first worldclass paragliding event held at Tamparuli, ended today. During the event, weather and wind conditions proved challenging to the participants since last Friday. Borneo Air Sport Ozone Adventures, together with the Tuaran District Office and Tamparuli Sub-district office, have jointly organised the three-day event at Ruhiang Hill, Tamparuli. It is aimed at boosting the tourism industry there, while promoting paragliding as a sport. Soimil said more than 40 participants from 11 countries were expected to turn up at the event, but only 20 international paragliders, namely those from Indonesia, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Nepal, China, Korea and India, showed up. "Since this is our first time organising such an event, there are bound to be glitches here and there, but as we go along, the organisation will be smoother," he said, hoping to see more foreign participants next year. -- BERNAMA We've heard para-gliding and hang gliding in Malaysia now. But, how about glider (sailplane)? Are there any people in this country doing that? I would love to try it one day...sounds fun and thrilling...
  17. fuh, statement from the parliament...i still sense quite a considerable government influence in this...
  18. I see no harm in emulating the success of other airlines, except maybe tweak the strategy a little to best fit the airline's business plan...
  19. Are there any ways the runway be repaired or be recoated with fresh new layers of concrete/tar (is it what they use to construct runway?) without disrupting flights?...the current situation concerns me...
  20. To my knowledge, AK (before it was not even LCC back in the late 90's) operate some MD-11s...saw one of them parked in BKI T2 for a long period for the Hajj season that year...
  21. That is so true, perhaps, because Australia is such a huge country would not be economical for people from PER to transit at SYD for flight to Europe.
  22. When will it be exactly? I thought BI will just have their new 777 touch and goes at BWN considering traffic there is not that busy...
  23. Meet RBA's First Boeing 777 I think the photo is really something...very symbolic...
  24. Taken from Daily Express Chamber fumes over the Labuan-KK air fare hike Published on: Tuesday, June 01, 2010 Labuan: The Chinese Chamber of Commerce (CCC) here regrets that air passengers on the Labuan-KK-Labuan route will have to cough out another RM20 per way effective June 1. Apart from the Business Class the fare had also been increased on other sectors and classes as well. "It is certainly a sour gift from MASWings for the Harvest Festival," said CCC Chairman, Chin Chee Kee. Chin said based on per kilometer, the air fare between Labuan and KK was already considered exorbitant and unreasonable. He said the Business Class one-way fare was RM308 and with the additional RM20 it would be RM328. For a return fare it would be a whopping RM656. Compared to the fare to foreign destinations from KK, one could even purchase a lower fare to Kuala Lumpur," he said. He noted there was no rationale for the airline hike the fare because for Business class travelers, they were unable to enjoy MAS Gold Lounge facilities at Labuan airport as it is not available. He said adding to this, Business Class travelers also have to walk in the rain or sun to board the MASWings aircraft. On what basis is it raising the fare?. The airline should understand its corporate social responsibility. The airline should also understand that it is the only one that provide the service on the route and the public had no choice but depend on its aircraft," added Chin. Said unless the KL-Labuan sector was priced reasonably it would be difficult for Labuan to gain from the tourism boom in Sabah. "Most China travelers coming to Kota Kinabalu on chartered and other flights are paying less than RM600 for the trip which takes about two or more hours. "Will they be prepared to pay such amount for a 20-minute travel to Labuan" Chin asked. I didn't realize how expensive it is for a return business class ticket for such a short route...
  25. I cant see the MH B744F landing last night from my house, was it due to the craft landing from runway 20 (my house is on runway 02 side)?...Or the 747 is delayed to today? Bcoz flightstats.com says the flight is from PVG.
