  1. The ad also shows EK is directly mocking US based carriers after the former was accused by USA Big 3 for 'encroaching' their turf. Don't forget the 10% who pay top-dollars too!
  2. Their website interface and user-friendliness must be improved at the same time too. Everytime I tried clicking on most of North Asia's airlines websites, it feels 'heavy' (or slow response). Or is it just me?
  3. AirAsia may ditch klia2 for Langkawi base By: Bilqis Bahari KUALA LUMPUR: Sept. 25, 2015: The ongoing spat between AirAsia Bhd and Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB), with the former’s threats to leave the klia2 terminal, may see the budget carrier possibly moving its base to Langkawi island instead. This possibility has grown stronger because the airline has apparently received a huge 70% discount from MAHB for airport charges in Langkawi – a surprising deal that AirAsia group chief executive officer Tan Sri Tony Fernandes has reportedly told Australia-based Centre for Aviation (CAPA). The Langkawi move poser comes just weeks after AirAsia issued a RM409 million letter of demand on MAHB for loss and damages incurred as a result of operating from klia2 as well as from the previous low cost carrier terminal. The move to Langkawi had already been hinted at by Fernandes and AirAsia Bhd CEO Aireen Omar when they threatened to move out of the newly built RM4 billion klia2 terminal over alleged continued soil settlement there at aircraft parking bays and aprons. 4. Or could be that Boeing lists the current operators of 777. I saw similar page in Boeing website that lists out the operators of 777 along with 3D aircraft model and livery, though MH was represented in current livery.
  5. AirAsia to move to terminal two by year end – Liow September 21, 2015, Monday KOTA KINABALU: The Transport Ministry is looking into the arrangements to transfer the operation of low-cost carrier AirAsia Berhad from Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) Terminal 2 (T2) to T1. ... As for the AirAsia’s response on the move, he said the airline had come up with proposals which the ministry was looking into, which included incentives. More at: http://www.theborneopost.com/2015/09/21/airasia-to-move-to-terminal-two-by-year-end-liow/ *** I hope it will go smooth this time.

  7. Moving to T1: Pros 1) More check-in counters. 2) More gates to park aircrafts. 3) More connection opportunities for pax (more airlines to choose from under one single terminal). 4) Shops and dining (but expensive lah that Jesselton Kopitiam, RM30++ for Char Kuey Teow?!!) are more interesting than T2 (relative to secondary airports in the country). 5) More spacious for walkabout. Cons 1) Higher PSC (from the viewpoint of AirAsia) - personally, I am not fussy about it, with that kind of far better facility in Sabah. 2) Have to compete with other airlines for overnight parking slots. 3) AirAsia may expand operations faster than terminal can cope (probably think that airport management slow to expand terminal) I could be wrong though for above assumptions...

  9. 'Home comforts, such as they are, appear to be just a few makeshift curtains slung over airplane windows and mats laid on the floor. It's a far cry from the dreams of travel, adventure and possibility that airplanes conjure for many.' More at: http://edition.cnn.com/2015/09/15/travel/bangkok-plane-graveyard/ *** I feel pity and humbled after seeing their living conditions.
  10. I thought only RM700mil alone was spent on T1, and the rest went into stretching & improving the runway (news reports said RM1.7bil was spent upgrading T1). AirAsia, please move to T1 lah.

  12. SATTA hopes AirAsia Bhd agrees to relocate at KKIA T1 – SATTA chairman 10th September, 2015 By PAUL MU Paul@newsabahtimes.com.my KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Association of Tour and Travel Agents (SATTA) hopes that AirAsia Bhd will agree to relocate its operations at Terminal 2 of the Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) to Terminal 1. Association chairman, Dato’ Seri Winston Liaw (pic) said with the proposal to build a new terminal on a 40-acre land next to Terminal 1 within the next five years, the inconvenience cited by the low-budget airlines for refusing to allocate, would only be temporary. According to Winston, the proposal was mentioned during a meeting of the Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) with AirAsia Bhd in the presence of the Ministry of Transport. It was held to find a solution to resolve the relocation issue. “I was informed that during the meeting, the relevant authorities had laid out their future plans which included a proposal to build a new terminal on a 40-acre land next to Terminal 1 within the next five years,” said Winston at his office here yesterday. “The inconvenience will only be temporary while waiting for the proposed new terminal to be built. Furthermore, the facilities in Terminal 2 are already outdated and any delay in moving out will only infuriate the passengers,” he added. 13. There was a proposed dialogue between MAHB and AirAsia regarding the relocation to T1 issue. Perhaps, the latest news you mentioned today is the outcome of the (perhaps now concluded) dialogue?
  14. Which news source is it? Is it just mere talk or concrete/approved/in-the-pipeline plan?
