  1. Man I was thinking the same thing! Got no credit card though...and all my cash at the moment is going to pay for the damn ticket just to get to KUL! Take QZ in the morning and AK back...or even JT! AK/QZ combo is RM260, or pretty close to. We could also do a random QR trip its only RM193!!!
  2. ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC MATE!
  3. Pieter, I drive the Rio quite a lot...takes a while though ICAO for Gingin is YGIG, so its common here just to call it GIG (maybe its faint hope!) Sandeep, I thought showing you Jesus (carrying a cross) in GIG was enough!
  4. Winds a JAD are heavenly compared to GIG!
  5. Currently working towards my PPL. On weekends the R155 ("Romeo 155" = Restricted area 155) is deactivated and we can fly there as civilians.
  6. Dont spot much at JAD, but go flying there fairly often (most of my flying is conducted at RAAF Gingin) however had the idea to go there soon as shoot some RFDS birds, particularly the King Air 200's for Norman.
  7. FYI, in CGK you can now shoot QF 73H's in daylight on Tuesday's only.
  8. Awesome shots Azman, ZRH is definately high up on the to-do list!
  9. Well PER hosted some fantastic (NOT!) summer weather today. Went out for about 30mins to shoot A330-322 CS-TMT (Ex- MKZ). And was lucky enough to also score:
  10. Yer, we were all so stunned that XR adopted such a lovely livery. The one in the rear, VH-FND was the last to wear Ansett colours. Cheers bro, you were number 2, however I was working till mid-arvo. Had no credit lah bro, from ringing you to find dates! HAHAHA, funny you say that...damn hot all Christmas week, I wake up this morning, and its bucketing down with rain!!! Tomorrow is supposed to be a lovely 30 odd degrees...its usually 42 or there abouts this time of year!!

  17. strict or would ridiculous be a better word? Hahaha!
  18. Wow, absolutely awesome! Never realised the spotting was so good in CGK!
  19. In the first pic, Foxtrot India has a regular passenger door whereas X-ray Delta in the second pic is equipped for operations at less equipped airfields having airstairs incorporated in the door. The beauty of such a configuration is that the airstair handrails can be detached and allow the a/c to use airbridges also if necessary. Pieter, simply stunning!
  20. Pieter, it shouldn't be up to MAS to pay for it. This is totally unacceptable at any international airport for such an occurence! If MAS send a replacement bird, it should be at the airport corps expense.
  21. One of the worst things, was when my brother was coming home from Johannesburg. A girl who was in his group had a plush bear since she was quite young, and took it everywhere she went. Upon return into Perth, they noticed a "made in china" label and took it from her. She become visually upset, so they took it away into a room. They returned it to her a few minutes later with a big hole and all the stuffing removed. When asked why, they said they saw the made in china sticker and thought it may contain a banned material inside! Man, everything in this country is made in bloody china! Why would this plush bear be any different to the 30947802374097504917502497504137504 other plush bears in Australia made there! That is just racist towards the Chinese, as without them this country would not function!
  22. I believe it will be like BNE, which has a sort of scissor style airbridge. One walkway goes down for arrivals, and the other comes from the floor above and both meet at the end, which is a drivable airbridge (ie, it can move in all directions, is simply not just moved out to a/c) This is no good, and I hope MAS are compensated quite heavily. The firm who own AKL, should be made to wet lease an a/c to get the stranded pax home.
  23. The new ones are the worst, they think they have this immense power of everyone, which is some instances they do. I've heard of countless younger officers being sent away from PER because they abuse their power. Its got to the stage in PER, where officers are now told what spotters are, what they do and generally told who were are. Couldn't agree more, Customs here are in a world of their own, especially the junior ones which let the power go to their head. I had a mate who bought some biscuits back for SG, they let 3 packets through, and took 2 for themselves. The customs guys turned around and said "Hey mate, this is for coffee later!" That is shameful. I've been harassed in PER (as well as CHC), where I was acussed about 3 or 4 times of being a drug dealer, because I had gone away with my older brother (who at the time was 19) to SIN/BKK, they couldn't comprehend a 17 year old saving his hard earned dollars for a spotting holiday. Slight "unfortunate" accident occured when I ran over one customs officers foot with a trolley containing 60kg of luggage. I won't go into details, but I too just do not like them. I feel ashamed to live in the same city as them. But you don't have PR lah bro, that stamp in your passport is for decoration only Or join the line of middle eastern looking men, for a "random" bomb scan In Australia we have don't any strict laws on people obtaining and listening to radio recievers (AKA Scanners). Once at domestic security I was questioned about it, and told it was not allowed to come through. That was the second time that day I had been through (at the time the only food outlets were through security), and the first time had no questions asked. The supervisor who was the one to question, was suddenly approached by a fairly senior guard and told "he brings it through all the time, he's no risk." The look on her face was priceless Happy New Year! Many pleasant customs experiences in 06 for all
  24. Oh good, don't leave me in KUL with these scary people
