KS Ong 1 Report post Posted July 1, 2018 Airbus's latest product, the A330-900neo, donning TAP Air Portugal livery (rego CS-TUA / F-WWKM), was recently in KUL (27-30 June 2018) to perform a series of route proving flights around the South East Asia and Hong Kong region. This Asia tour is part of their Type Certification program as well as to showcase to potential buyers in the region. During these four days, the aircraft flew to MNL on 27/6, CGK and DMK on 28/6 and HKG on 29/6 from the KUL base; before flying off to MRU on 30/6. We were delighted to be invited by Malaysia Airport to cover this momentus occasion. Here are some pictures of our small coverage. The invitees gathered at KLIA Guard Post 3 before proceeding to the airside office. There, we were given the mandatory safety briefing and discussed our coverage. The first two (from the left) are representing Airbus and the rest of us are invited spotters. The DOs and DONTs while being in the airside. We were being divided into two groups (runway & apron). A group 'wefie' first before going off to our positions. Weather wasn't promissing after this picture and it began to drizzle. Some test shots is a must, to get better settings and positionig before the arrival. At about 0906, she was finally here. Short video of her arrival More to come from the WET apron
Samuel Chy 0 Report post Posted July 2, 2018 (edited) First of all, many thanks to Malaysia Airport on being chosen as one of the spotter for the event coverage. as well as OngKS for his transport and accommodation arrangement. Lets rewind the tape for few moments before. first we reach at Post 3, to meet up with the person in-charge and enjoy our early breakfast before the events the journey began... everything seems good at the moment soon after the draw for station, we start to discuss for potential spot but... the dramatic scenery kicks in moment before this but fortunately, there is enough window gaps for us for a test shots before her in sight. and as of reference, do find this in point in Google map, if it's in the map. Sri Ramani K. 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2018 Nice coverage guys.. Just to chip in a few taken at different angles and different lighting conditions..It was surely a great 5 days having her around in KUL! Arrival into KUL in gloomy morning.. Coming back from CGK in blue skies! Early rotation on its flight to BKK with the last available sunshine for the day. Pushing back for it's final leg to MRU. And off she goes..! Thank you very much.
