Chaity 1 Report post Posted November 9, 2005 Talking about birds in KLIA, I use to see them roaming around in KLIA. I would say to complete "bird-free" in this area is impossible. Anyone knows what are the steps or procedures required for MAB/DCA to follow ? Images like this might not happen every minute but do encouter once awhile. Chaity 1 Report post Posted November 11, 2005 Ha Ha! Make full use of spotting. If no aircraft approaching, spot birds, landscape or vehicles passing by. Bird strike might happen. Of course a small bird is no match to the hugh engine of a 777.

Teoh Z Yao 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2005 The dog wanna race with the aircraft or travel in it? CUtez! 14247[/snapback] Those are L-I-O-N! As a naive question on the subject, probably, do birds respond to honks? If they do we could probably fix bird honks on planes and be used during takeoffs and landings. I remember reading the Singaporean Airforce make use audio to rid off birds from vicinity of flight training. If that is successful, doesn't it make sense to implement it at airports? Imagine when Airbus approaches and will sound A-A-A and Boeing will sound B-B-B to alert spotters to get their cameras ready

TK 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2005 these birds at KLIA.............. they are the ones that gives MH aircraft "red pimples" on the fuselage!!!! imagine............small bird ..speed of flight 20km/h or more.. Big Bird like a 777 ...approach speed 260km/h.......at impact with the birds.....thats where the airplanes get red pimples on the body... my experience........BIG BIRD at 9000 feet descending into Kota Bharu at Night... my whole wind screen was all RED!!!!!!!!!!!!!! on final, i told captain i cannot see the runway,,,he said he can see it clearly... then we knew,,,something was on my windscreen....so that was the "thump" noise we heard at 9000 feet...hit a Big Bird at 9000 feet.....imagine!!!
