Sri Ramani K. 0 Report post Posted June 4, 2007 i don't know if this topic existed before, did a search and found nothing.. going through the lists of A320's owned by airasia in A.net, some of them seem to be modelled A320-214 while there are some which are modelled A320-216.. from what i understand, the number 4 & 6 are the versions of the engines..anyone care to give an insight on this? and maybe explain why the difference? it should help me since i'm doing this project! thanks a lot

S V Choong 4 Report post Posted June 4, 2007 Presumable the A320-216 carry with them the updated and more fuel efficient engines
Isaac 0 Report post Posted June 4, 2007 If my memory serves me correctly, the older 320 have higher thrust engines and the newer 320 have derated engines. This is because the derated engines suit AK operating condition better.
