Attan 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2006 What's is the 'string' that connects the tail and the roof of fuselage ? I remember those 'old' aircarfts have this kind of 'string' but not in the later aircraft model. On the C172, it is the "sense antenna". For VOR reception, there is a "loop antenna" (a metal ring which turns to seek the direction of the signal) below the fuselage and the sense antenna. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
