Tony Fernandes: AirAsia to introduce sustainability fee in airfare 'soon'

https://www.nst.com.my/business/corporate/2024/05/1044947/tony-fernandes-airasia-introduce-sustainability-fee-airfare-soon

The EU is suing EU airlines for greenwashing soon. Lets hope MAVCOM and CAAM are watching this move closely. TF may just be paying lip service to sustainability while boosting his company's bottom line.

The problem the finance and corporate sector in most of Asean have been pushing this gimmick for improved ratings. Not only tied to the aviation industry its also in the private sector, IT and engineering industry and even our government.

AirAsia Cambodia (CAM, Phnom Penh) has commenced operations after securing its air operator's certificate from Cambodia's State Secretariat of Civil Aviation. The LCC's first day of operation was May 2, 2024, operating eight sectors on the day.

“We are honoured to jointly celebrate the birth of our seventh AirAsia-branded airline with our guests," said AirAsia Aviation Group CEO Bo Lingam. "Leveraging our strong foothold in ASEAN, AirAsia Cambodia is set to provide connectivity to over 130 destinations across Asia and beyond."

According to ADS-B flight data, AirAsia Cambodia's single A320-200, XU-819 (msn 5109) - which it ferried in two weeks ago - flew Phnom Penh-Siem Reap New Angkor International-Sihanoukville-Siem Reap-Phnom Penh in the morning before repeating the same rotation later in the day. The flight time is around 30 minutes on the Phnom Penh-Siem Reap city pair and 40 minutes between Sihanoukville and Siem Reap.

AirAsia Aviation Group carriers already fly into Phnom Penh, with AirAsia (AK, Kuala Lumpur International) operating scheduled services from Kuala Lumpur and Thai AirAsia (FD, Bangkok Don Mueang) coming in from Bangkok. The two airlines offer a combined 63 services a week into Cambodia.

AirAsia Cambodia is a joint venture entity formed between AirAsia Aviation Group, part of Capital A, with Sivilai Asia. IATA code: KT, formerly used by Kampuchea Airlines

Teleport plans to buy seven more freighters to deliver two million parcels daily by 2025

https://theedgemalaysia.com/node/711369

By Izzul Ikram / theedgemalaysia.com 13 May 2024, 07:50 pm

KUALA LUMPUR (May 13): Teleport, Capital A Bhd’s (KL:CAPITALA) majority owned logistics arm, is planning to boost its network with seven more air freighters, as it targets to increase the volume of parcels it delivers daily to two million by end-2025, from 130,000 parcels a day at end-2023.

This operational scale-up will make the company on a par with global express players, said Teleport chief executive officer Pete Chareonwongsak.

Teleport's current network comprises three narrow-belly air freighters, the belly capacity from AirAsia’s enlarged aviation umbrella, and over 30 other global airline partners. The company's daily parcel volume rose to 170,000 by the end of the first quarter of this year.....
