Christopher Lo JK 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2016 (edited) Randomly choose a few trip photos of mine and share here. Onboard flight AK6350(KCH/BKI) twice/more. This flight is the earliest flight of AK everyday. 25/12/2014 Sunrise 26/6/2015 9M-AHH, onboard AK6354(KCH/BKI) Got my cousins to bring me spotting in the early morning(the next day, 27/6/2015). Prestley Shim 0 Report post Posted July 27, 2016 Weather was nice and sunny today so decided to go out and shoot. However, shooting arrivals in the afternoon was not a good idea due to the lighting. The newest member of Batik Air Malaysia, 9M-LCF. Former Batik Air Indonesia PK-LBR coming in as OD1606. Her registration did not appear on FR24. Added quite a bit of mystery while waiting for her.She then departed back to Lumpur as OD1605.9M-MLE rotating off 07 to Kinabalu as MH2806.9M-AHT from Bintulu as AK6057. Prestley Shim 0 Report post Posted July 31, 2016 Short spotting session on the final day of July this year..tried to get some departure shots and learn panning. Clearly a basic 18-55 kit lens won't do too well. Heavy cropping required.9M-MLH departing off 07 to BKI 9M-AJZ arriving from Lumpur. The only satisfactory shot out of all the panning attempts I did. Nice one Prestley; Keep them coming Thank you! Ow, you guys are getting a regular dose of Batik. We are still getting Malindo in BUY. You mean BKI? The Batik ones are sometimes predictable. Last week it was double LCC and LCD for us. Then this week LCF was a regular here. Wonder what next week. Now Malindo has a lot of livery variations. The LCF there with Malindo title positioned lower on the fuselage Yeap, noticed that too! Hope they don't have identity crisis soon! Haha

Prestley Shim 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2016 Haha.. not the lens bro but a lot of practice with your newly bought DSLR, and leave auto setting..surely in no time you will be a pro. Have been using DSLRs for quite abit before getting my own one so definitely never touched the Auto mode ever since xD But for panning shots on the runway, a 18-55mm is just not enough. Needs more focal length. Otherwise when I try to crop it during editing, it's gonna be blurry or details are lost.

Prestley Shim 0 Report post Posted August 5, 2016 Hey Mr. Prestley, I see that your panning is getting spot on, congratulation. Awesome images as usual Thank you! Works best with taxiing aircraft. As for traffic on the runway, it's more of a hit and miss. Might need to practice more

Prestley Shim 0 Report post Posted August 7, 2016 Went for a long Sunday spotting. Pretty productive day I would say.AHT now based in JHB.Second AK special livery of the day.The ol' bird.9M-MWB "Kinabalu"Still a lot more to come.. Does anyone know why AK renumbered its KCH-SIN-KCH flights back to 4 digits. Just came back from SIN and noticed my usual AK776 is now AK1776. I though international flights are 3 digits (for AK at least). No idea why also. Noticed that some of the usual 3 digit international flight numbers on other AK routes have also been changed to 4 digits.

Muhammad Firdaus 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2016 (edited) I has been a bit quiet here in KCH/WBGG since Prestley last posted but no worries since I gone through my pictures archive I found some interesting pictures that I was not aware I had them all this while. They were taken sometimes in late 2010 while waiting for my flight to KUL. Aahh, that was 6 years ago. Lets just hope that wide bodies are coming again to KCH. Glad to share, enjoy. 9M MKA just arriving from HKG via BKI A face-off with the giant ..loading. Notice a tail of a tiger? I have the full view of it which I am going to post later. Let me just share some of my August spotting logs.Spotting in the rain. 9M-AJI from Lumpur as AK5212.9M-AJY, the aircraft that took me back to Kuching from Kinabalu on 30th August. Two rival companies..9M-AHM operating AK6058 to Bintulu, commandeered by Capt Aizuddin Hisham, who was nice enough to open the window to give me a nice wave while taxiing past.Malindo 737 workhorse.9M-MWE "Mukah"9M-AHJ which was based in Kuching forawhile, giving me the opportunity to spot her for the first time. Took me to Kinabalu on the 25th August.9M-LCC, one of the first few of the new 737's to be painted in this hybrid Batik livery.PK-TXI, a regular doing PNK-KCH runs. Recognizable from far on the approach as her left hand side landing light is always dimmer than the other two.
