Robert 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2014 (edited) This would be one very short flight if it ever went ahead http://www.freemalaysiatoday.com/category/nation/2014/10/29/direct-flights-to-pulau-redang-to-boost-tourism/ KUALA TERENGGANU: The Terengganu government is making efforts to have direct flights from Kuala Terengganu to Pulau Redang, a diving haven, to cater to tourists’ needs during the monsoon season. State Tourism and Culture Committee chairman Mohd Jidin Shafee said the initiative was being taken to bring tourists to the island all year-round. Choppy seas during the monsoon season hampers the transporting of tourists to the popular island. In another matter, Mohd Jidin said the state government was doing upgrading work on Pulau Bidong, which has a rich history pertaining to the arrival of “boat people” during the height of the Vietnam War, before declaring it a heritage island. - BERNAMA Edited October 29, 2014 by Robert
