Amazing! Queenstown in NZ is one of the most beautiful places in the world, especially in winter.

The moment they turn towards the direction of the hill while descending into the thick clouds demonstrates the importance of their instruments in preventing them from flying blindly directly into the hill.

 

Of course it should be quite safe thanks to the advancements in technology.

All the flying is done with AP coupled to the FMGC,pilots are there to monitor the flying,GPS and GNSS must be available and more than 2 sats must be received and aircraft rated for RNP-AR.AXM is in the process for certification from DCAM to enable RNP-AR in their operations.
