Mtrans Tech ready to start KLIA monorail work

MTRANS Technology Bhd is ready to develop an 11km connection from the KL International Airport (KLIA) terminal to Sepang International F1 Circuit and the Low-Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT).

Klia-Circuit-LCC...better keep the money, y want to build monorail there, the LCC is not permanent, how often people go to Sepang circuit-very rarely and here they make a service from Airport to the circuit !@#$%^&*(. But if they want to build, some don't care, there will be some riders riding just 4 fun :p

Why not tram? As it is cheaper to build and operate than monorail beside there is plenty of land available for double tracks. B)

Talking about low cost, Ryanair's new idea to cut costs is to reduce the no. of check in counters, so less space to rent and also less personnel to employ... how they expect to achieve this? Simple... start charging for checked in baggage. So they hope that less people will check in their baggage, meaning shorter check-in queues, less counters needed, less counter staff, less baggage handlers, etc. Which means that they encourage people to carry 5kg hand luggage only..

Air Asia already followed ryanair by providing non-reclinable seats, will they follow suit with no tray tables, and charging for checked-in baggage?

Opposite with AK which has lots of counters in LCCT, do you know in oder to get more profit to AK, they plan to open budget hotel which cost around 50-100 bucks per night. These hotels will be built in the city that AK serve, in term of saving money, the pilots+crews will stay at low cost hotel, the hotel name will be Tune Hotel.com IIRC. Wonder how it will looks like, like a hostel??? :D

Yup, have read about it a couple of weeks ago.

Another way they can cut costs is perhaps introduce web-check in and also self-service check in kiosks. Virgin Blue has both web check in and the self service kiosks while QF has Quickcheck.
