Recommended Posts

Without plugging leakages, even MH fleet is super modern, super fuel efficient, super pax friendly, etc is unlikely generate consistent profit. At current structure, buying new aircraft is also a leakage.

MH losses from the past decade with 3 bail-outs and few restructurings would have been rm9 billion of far in accumulated losses excluding this rm1.17 billion loss again.

And to seek govt help to buy new planes will add another few billion rm from taxpayers money. The only way is to let MAS to collapse and be done with; and then have a new airline truly privitalised and with non political agendas and office holders to take over MAS. But this is unlikely to happen in Malaysia - and sadly the taxpayers money will be used to fund its losses albeit hopefully lower losses in the interim.

At first they said that the decision to replace the existing fleet will be made by first quarter of year 2014. And now, by the end of 2014. I think this may come a bit too late.

Then when middle of the year comes, the order will be made end of this year ....

Then when middle of the year comes, the order will be made end of this year ....

Then when end of year comes, the order will be further delayed due to forex losses/volatility, high fuel costs, intense competition ...... etc

(if you in their shoes, would you tamper with a tried and tested formula ?!)

:)

I think we should give up for now on MAS until serious improvements are made they can not be a success in the industry.
