Seth K 3 Report post Posted April 2, 2006 Very classic color. Anybody knows the purpose of painting plane with original design from the past? Popularity? Pride?
Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted April 2, 2006 Popularity? Pride? Nostalgy and pride; same way, many airlines are doing this these days, like Lufthansa (on 321), Turkish (on A320), and the earlier mentioned US airways with the exposed colours of PSA and America West... Would love to see a KLM A330 in the 60's colours i.e. with the diagonal stripes in the tail and two-coloured cheatline along the windows; can still remember the L188's and DC7's wearing these great colours, as well as the early DC8-30's...so, guys, now you know how old I am
