Widebody airliner flying into Miri???? Wait long long!

Only during the haji season. Do they ever use widebody aircraft to fly KUL -MYY? Maybe couple of times, widebody aircraft to international routes? Probably charter.

I heard there's a resort going to be built in Santubong, Kuching or somewhere around Damai.

The waters at Santubong is darker than my teh tarik I drank this morning.

Please don't be on the dark side. And just so you know, Santubong beach has already been closed down for many years after the jelly fish attack. I reckoned you haven't even been to the local tourism spots for long!

Yikes, sounds serious lah :)

I mean to build a resort at a beach that is off limit due to safety hazard !

On he other hand, I hear Kuching quite well known for those edible jelly fish no ?

Nah, a resort is not necessarily to have a beach though it would be a plus plus. Besides, Santubong beach is now fully transformed into Golf Resort. There're only 2 decent beaches in Kuching, one is Damai Beach, further up from Santubong and another one is Sematan Beach, both have been renovated to beautiful beaches since I last went.

Remember I was a kid during the jelly fish attack incident, it occurred during a film shooting.

Seriously ? How they gonna market the place then ? Golf alone ?

Come on, ever wonder how Genting Resort gets to make money without a beach? People with brain sure would make business out of it.

Genting Resort is built on top of a hill and has a casino licence

Proposed Santubong resort is to be built next to a beach, casino licence forthcoming ?

(liken to comparing orange with apple really)

Nah, the taliban in UMNO will never grant another casino licence in this country again. Genting development began in the more enlightened days of the Tengku...

That's right. I fully agree with you. Unfortunately for my state, people with brain have left for places willing to pay more, and people with power and connections have no brains.

Express Air to ply Kuching-Pontianak-Bandung route next month

Posted on August 19, 2013, Monday

KUCHING: Indonesia’s regional airline Express Air will be the latest airliner to fly to Kuching, offering travellers with the option to fly the Kuching-Pontianak-Bandung route starting early next month.

The Indonesian consul-general in Sarawak, Djoko Harjanto, confirmed the Makassar-based Express Air has added Kuching as its latest destination.

“Express Air will connect Kuching, Pontianak and Bandung, and its maiden flight is scheduled sometime in early September. With the entry of this new airline, the people in Sarawak now have another option to travel to Pontianak and direct journey to Bandung,” he said when contacted yesterday.

For a start, he said Express Air will provide flights three

times weekly. He also stated that Express Air will fill in the vacuum left by Batavia Air which has ceased operations since February.

Previously, Batavia Air plied three times weekly from here to Pontianak and onwards to Jakarta.

Djoko said the flight to Bandung should excite holiday-goers in Sarawak for its shopping and tourism attraction.

“There have never been any flight from Kuching to Bandung before, but soon there is,” he said.

At present, MASwings serves the Kuching-Pontianak route, flying seven times weekly.
