Simon Beck 0 Report post Posted August 26, 2011 I'm looking to put together a definitive listing of serial numbers for the RMAF Avon-Sabre, all ex-RAAF Sabre Mk.32 fighters. I believe there was 18 in service all up. Thank you.
LaurieB 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2011 Simon, perhaps this site will help: My link Look for 'RAAF Series 2' in the title bar and, after clicking on that, 'A94 - CAC CA-26/CA-27 Sabre' in the listing. Should be able to get the serials from there.

MIR 2 Report post Posted August 27, 2011 (edited) Thanks for sharing, Geoff There's also a Sabre in the middle of a roundabout inside the Sungai Besi Army Camp but I've no info on its identity. If I'm not mistaken, there is a jet preserved at RMAF Bukit Ibam,Pahang but unsure if it's a Sabre or Skyhawk. Edited August 27, 2011 by MIR
Geoff R. 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2011 Thanks for sharing, Geoff There's also a Sabre in the middle of a roundabout inside the Sungai Besi Army Camp but I've no info on its identity. If I'm not mistaken, there is a jet preserved at RMAF Bukit Ibam,Pahang but unsure if it's a Sabre or Skyhawk. I thought the one on the roundabout was in the Air Force Academy but I may be wrong. The aircraft is FM1946 but I don't have a photo. Here are photos of FM1905 at the Muzeum Sultan Abu Bakar in Pekan - taken in late 2009. Geoff
Simon Beck 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2011 Ecellent replies!!! What prompted me to start this thread was that on a recent trip to Sungai Besi I photographed details of the Sabre on display there with s/n: FM-1907 and inside was a panel with "A94-365" on it indicating its original RAAF s/n. But most sources quote this Sbare as being FM-1905. Is it possible this is the actual Sabre simply marked as "FM-1907"?

Would like to visit this place during my next trip to Malaysia this summer. Johan If you type N2 49' 10" E101 27' 10" into google maps and zoom in you will see it just North of Jalan Sultan Abdul Samad. I don't know its identity so if you do find out anything please let me know. Geoff

During my visit to the museum 30/7/2005 I inspected the plane and under the paint on the nose wheel door 04 could be read. This confirmes that it's the real one.
