flee 5 Report post Posted November 7, 2013 One thing we always know Airasia will do - they will drop things that don't work... and quickly!
Mulyadir Fitri 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2013 The supposedly relocation plan came when they were arm twisting with MAHB and gomen on a lot of issues, including the KLIA2. Now that everything is settled and they have a clear timeline on the opening of KLIA2, wayang pun stop also. The whole plan looks even more dubious if you take into account the fact that Indonesia has lots more bureaucratic red tapes and under the table deals than Malaysia. Sandeep G 1 Report post Posted November 7, 2013 They were probably tight on space at the present LCCT offices, and we're initially constrained in size for their new office complex under construction at the KLIA2.. Plus they were looking at buying out Batavia and building the Indonesian ops (the largest market in SEA) and even listing on the Jakarta Stock exchange... After the Malindo introduction, they probably want to safeguard what they have invested in Malaysia - although rumors are aplenty that NADI is not satisfied with a decision to consolidate lion MRO activities in Batam as oppose to expanding Airod at SZB which was on the JV wishlist. I'd imagine AirAsia has more to gain from the KL base than anywhere else!
