I introduce some PICS to you.

This Mandara A320 spotting from Jakarta Airport Hotel.

This hotel rocated Terminal 2 and all rooms face to 07L/25R.

Terminal 2 use for all international flight and Garuda,Merpati.

And Terminal 3 opened last month for Mandala and Air Asia Indonesia.

The above-mentioned airlines use 07L/25R mostly.

These PICS from outside of the airport, called "RAWAJATI".

It needs to take a taxi to go this area.

I think it is likely to spotting in the afternoon on a good condition.

I'm sorry for my terrible English as usual :sorry:

It seems you started spotting very early from those photos.

Junichi,

Great photos from Jakarta! I visited there in January 09 and it was fantastic,

like you we also stayed at the Jakarta Airport Hotel which was very convienient

and reasonably cheap I recall about US$120 p/night ++.

Here are a 2 pictures we took during our visit there from behind on the wire on

viewing deck!

Stored aircraft around GMF awaiting there fate:

& more stored aircraft at Jakarta:

Junichi, can you advise where abouts RAWAJATI is, as we never got there and

do all taxi drivers know howto get there ?? Is it a village or house estate alongside

airport's perimeter or something else.

Anymore details from you will help others & myself who intend to revisit this airport.

Cheers Greg

Dear Greg Wood

At First,here is a map.

image.jpg

"RAWAJATI" area faces Jakarta Airport Hotel, but it's take about 40 minutes from the airport hotel.

Also the road is not good, very narrow and the ruggedness is intense ;)

All taxi drivers don't know this area, but the driver who I met lives near this area fortunately!

So I could go there. If you revisit to CGK,I tell you a mobile phone number of him.

Or it might be good if you ask about"RAWAJATI" from person who works at an airport.

Because I heard from him, there are many people working in the airport who live in this area.

I think "RAWAJATI" area is a village.

There are many shops like a Papa-mama shop where you can buy mineral water & some cold drinks cheaplyer than the airport.

I hope you can go there, and get some good PICS :good:

May I know how much is the tax when you pay in CGK for outbound?

Last time, if not mistaken i paid IDR 100K for the Airport tax (international route). Now, i heard around IDR 150K.
