  1. I was just wondering, how did you guys come so close to the plane when they are landing on runway 25? Damn it, I want that angle. Also, how da heck did u guys get the runway shot without the fences? Someone care to enlighten me a little? hehee..
  2. Hopefully this doesn't turn into a war but more of a discussion on which aircraft actually supercedes each other. Make this a proper discussion alright people? Don't be so barbaric to bash each other around. Thanks. Anyway, yes, both families have their own disadvantages and advantages, but for some reason, I tend to like the Boeing more. I mean, this is just me, because I find the shape of the Boeing aircraft very nice. In terms of avionics, I tend to favour Boeings too. This is just me though, probably I fly the Boeing more often. Like I said, this is my personal opinion, so I am not bashing Airbus whatsoever, some might find the Airbus better.
  3. I am not complaining about the competition here if you guys understand what I am trying to get at. Yes, I understand we can get the tickets off peak hours but do understand that not all people have internet access off peak hours. The reason I didn't proceed with the booking during the peak hours was because of the inconsistent connection to the server. I have seen my colleagues trying to cancel a double charge with the bank and you don't wanna know how much hassle you have to go through.. and when you have to call AirAsia to cancel it, the system goes.. "HI, WELCOME TO AIRASIA. OUR LINES ARE ALL BUSY AT THE MOMENT DUE TO OVERWHELMING RESPONSE FROM THE PROMOTION..." As much as I love AirAsia, OMG, please help me. The woman is just annoying! All I am saying is, if you wanna do promotions, please be able to support the traffic. I mean, its just like going to online stores and buy something during promotions and when you wanna buy, the system goes hay wire. In case you guys are wondering, I am talking about the system and not the business tactics whatsoever. I appreciate AirAsia for what they do and that is giving low fares and making it affordable to fly. For that, I love them very much, BUT the system has got to be improved. A bigger server farm maybe? Yes, its a first come first serve basis and if anyone is complaining about not getting seats because they were late, please don't because they are only offering that limited seats. But for those who were early and couldn't book, I feel for you because I am in your shoes as well. I mean, this is like, first come, not served, last come, got served. No offence or anything. I like the promotion but the system has just got to be improved. This is not the first time I have encountered this problem. It's just my 2 cents and congrats to those who got the free seats.
  4. One bad thing though, when it's up for grabs, you can hardly even use their online booking system as they give you proxy error most of the time and when you finally get through, you'll also have to suffer proxy error each time you click on the Next button to proceed to the next stage of booking. It's extremely disappointing that I was one of the first few to try grab the free tickets but couldn't and didn't dare do so as the socket error would make me click refresh repeatedly and could possibly double or even triple charge my credit card. So I didn't get to book it and what do you know, try again the next day, walla, it's all gone. Why? All because of the stupid system which is incapable of handling heavy traffic. Air Asia should increase their server capacities as it's extremely frustrating not to get a ticket just because of their server, only to be grabbed by someone else later. sigh...
  5. They still allow cockpit visits? Darn it, last time, I can get in effortlessly but now, after the 911 attack, its really hard to get in. I have been on a Triple 7 and the 737-400 MAS. The triple 7 is a sweet one.=D
  6. Yea, if the delay continues, Airbus is so gonna be AirBUST. If SG Airline pulls out... its oredi a multi million or even billion dollar lost. Wait till every other airline starts pulling out later and they are so gone case. They better buckle up and sequence their things properly. Else, I see airbus going down the drain. If not for the A32X series, I think it would have been disastrous for the company by now.
  7. I believe when the newspaper reported during takeoff, it was getting into position for take off and possibly during a turn, the wheels slipped off the runway due to wrong judgment and went on the grass. If it has taken off, then it would have either taken off or landed safely. Above a certain speed, they are not allowed to abort take off anymore and there is no way they would have veered off the runway. That would have already been a failed takeoff crash.
  8. I don't quite get the joke on the fokker part and on the last part. I know its no longer funny if you explain it but perhaps a lil clue so that I can get it. I am sure there is some hilarious meaning behind it that I just don't get.
  9. Ouch. Carelessness turned celebration into disaster. It should be water and not foam firemen!
  10. Wai Hung, Are you sure about this? That means all of you would have to be wearing ear pads and of course no one would be allowed to board through the back doors as they will be flying all over the place. Was the engine running or was the wind naturally spinning it? hehe... Sorry to question you but I just find it strange because I have never come across this kinda situation and no airpport authorities will allow for engines to be running when passengers are boarding or when the planes are being serviced. I mean, luggages can't be loaded as well if the engines are spinning. Also note that that red beacons must also be on at all times when the engines are running. You probably heard the APUs running, which is fine, else you wouldn't get air conditioning.
  11. It has kaputed since I left for Kuching on Sunday, 10 Dec 2006. Delays above 3 hours would make them liable for compensating passengers with some kinda food and drink. If you get goinsured, any delays above 6 hours will be compensated ticket price if I am not mistaken.
  12. I was thinking the same too.
  13. Both aircrafts have fairly good legroom. When you fly economy, you don't expect too much legroom. Seating configurations are mostly the same on most airlines. Depending on your seating preference, you can choose the B747-400 if you don't mind seating in the middle row of four. You can choose the B777-200 if you like seating by the windows with father seating with one child and mother with another child.
  14. 1) I'd leave by 6-6.30. There shouldn't be any rush hour but just in case. Allocate 1-2 hrs for check in and waiting. It takes about 1hr from city centre to KLIA, with little traffic. 2) Both are equally comfortable but i tend to choose the 772 since I like the seat arrangement of 2-5-2 better. 34" pitch? Not too sure. Each has a seat TV located just right on the head rest of the front passenger seat. Business and First class gets added luxury of a personal 15" LCD. 3) Yes, it is the 747-400. Don't know how old they are. I have only been on the 744 once and love the sight of the queen. I was on a BNE-KUL flight. The rest has been on the 772. Both were equally sweet. 4) Yes, they are both safe. MAS has pretty good records when it comes to maintenance.
