  1. Another technical problem with the A380. Now timed to depart tonight at 23.35 as MH2D. The return flight from LHR (MH3) is obviously also delayed. Hope it doesn't happen again tonight, I'm on MH2 today.
  2. Sunday afternoon, nice and quiet in the regional lounge.
  3. maybe very small group of one that will miss LCCT!
  4. I must say that the last renovation of the business class section was somewhat underwhelming. The new 'sports bar' never seemed to be used by anyone and the layout of the seating was not very welcoming, a bit like a bus waiting area. The only seating that was lounge style was the family section, which was generally used by someone lying prone fast asleep. The toilet and shower facilities certainly need an overhaul as many times the facilities are out of order. Let's hope that the 'new' lounge will be 'mind blowing'! Ah, OK. I've been in the First/Emerald side a few times, but never noticed the Platinum Suite. Certainly been in the smoking room that side, but never bumped into you. I look forward to it next time!
  5. I thought that there was only two sides, ie Platinum/First and Gold/Business?
  6. Ooops, my apologies for the misspelling of the thread heading! Totally agree!
  7. I have just seen the following on the MH website: KLIA International Golden Lounge - temporary closure for renovation works Malaysia Airlines’ International Golden Lounge at KLIA Satellite Building will be closed for 5 weeks from midnight on 1 November till 7 December 2013 for renovation works. Our Business Lounge will resume operations on 8 December 2013 while the Platinum Lounge will be reopened next year on 1 January 2014. To minimize the impact of this closure to our guests, we have secured 3 alternative lounge facilities and arrangements. 8. I think I saw that it's RM120 for walk in access to the Golden Lounge at KLIA now. Is this entry restricted to Blue and Silver Enrich members, or any walk in?
  9. If this is the highest civilian airport, where is the highest military airport? Or is that still classified??
  10. Does anyone remember the red frequent flyer card that MH issued before the Enrich scheme? I had one some years ago and whenever I had an economy class ticket I was upgraded to business, and if I had a business class ticket I was upgraded to first. Ummmm, those were the days!
  11. I suppose its a good problem for MH to have, ie high loadings, but what worries me is that I might have to fly Air Asia if I can't get seats on MH!
  12. "I guess I should suggest to her to ask IT to have it removed from the website." The subject of the efficiency of the MH website has been topic of many threads on this forum!!
  13. Even with the increased frequencies, I am finding more and more difficult to book seats on regional MH flights, ie the ones using 738s, as they all seem to be full these days. It would be good, as fenandri suggests, to have a mix of A330 and 783s on routes, with the A330 being used for the popular timings, eg morning flights which are often used by business travelers
  14. Hi Ashley, my colleague has reached Platinum status with 100k miles earned by flying economy only. I seem to remember that to achieve Platinum status you had to accrue points on Business or First class fares only. Since joining Oneworld, this is not the case.
  15. But AF/KLM/LH are not part of One World. To me it seems there's little point in BA putting on a direct flight LHR-KUL against a One World partner, with a product (old planes) that does not compete against a 380 (apart from a premium economy product that MH should have introduced, but that's a differnt story )
  16. Does anyone know when the points for the Double Points promotion that ran from Feb until April will be credited? I'm keen to redeem some points for summer holidays and it would be nice to know how many I have! Thanks
  17. Josh, I'm with you! I was trying this afternoon to upload a photo of my new card, but couldn't work out how to. I also wanted to upload a photo a few weeks ago of the retro painted 737 but had the same problem. I'm sure our more tech savy friends on here will be able to help. (PS: Suhaimi, I finally found how to allow pop ups in Chrome!)
  18. When I tried to register using a Chrome browser the pop up screen didn't appear, but when I used IE it did. Hence, if you're having problems registering, try using a different browser.
  19. Just got back and the service on the return HKG - KUL sector was very good. It was a full flight and the crew were pleasant and helpful (both to Asian and Caucasian passengers!). Not sure what nationality the crew were, but maybe they were HK based and had had plenty of rest!
  20. A quick question: are the Cathay cabin crew still on the 'no smile' action? The reason I ask is because I was on a CX KUL - HKG sector this week and found the crew, whilst efficient, were without any personality. Hopefully this was because of the industrial action and not purely because of declining standards, The Dragonair crew from HGK to HGH were very different and very pleasant. Grateful for your thoughts.
  21. 9M-MXA was on push back this morning en route to Hanoi. (i was going to attach a photo, but couldn't work out how to!)
  22. I didn't get my points for flights in Oct and early Nov until some weeks after the flights. But now they are being credited overnight; I got back from MNL last night and have just checked my Enrich account and the points are there already!
  23. I've just booked a flight using Enrich points and interestingly its still using the old interface. I had assumed that both (paid flights and redeemed points flights) would use the same, new, system.
