  1. Found another video from YouTube that took place at Netherlands Antilles. For some that been to there, here is the videos of very remakable landings and takeoffs . Link:
  2. I do not know the airport name but I was looking through YouTube and found this video of the airport (probably in Munich) in quicktime (fast motion). Note airplanes landing and taking off at back, you can't even see them doing that : Link:
  3. I definitely agree . But what comes into mind is this: Which one is more expensive- Airbus A380-841 or Boeing 777-300ER ?
  4. I agree. Now GOL Airlines lost and brand new airplane: ONLY 2 WEEKS OLD!!! There goes a approx. US$85million
  5. I agree with Chan CS. Now MAS has stiff competition. First is AirAsia, Fly Asian Express (division of AirAsia), Then Phillipine Airlines. I don't think MAS won't be too happy now.
  6. That is a very impressive presentation!!!! Think of it: First Class, 36"x81" SkyBed, guest seat, and a personal closet; now that's heaven! Cathay Pacific should be proud of themselves. Congrats CX!!
  7. The photo of the KLM plane that I am showing is the final shot taken . The old livery (reverse scheme: mostly white and blue stripes) was taken a few years before the the accident : Picture courtesy of www.super70s.com
  8. I think Onur Air will be very embarrassed on what had happened. Plus I don't get it on why the captain want to resign his job on the runway and there must be a reason why he wants to resign . This just doesn't make sense .
  9. On March 27, 2007, it will be the 30th anniversary of the worst aircraft disaster in aviation history: The Tenerife Disaster. on March 27, 1977 (9 months before Malaysia Airlines Flight MH653 Disaster) KLM Royal Dutch Airlines Flight KL4805 and PanAm Airways Flight PA1736 collided on the runway during takeoff. 583 people were killed Blame: the KLM crew failed to asked if they or the PanAm plane was cleared for takeoff . To visit the MH653 memorial site, go to Kampung Ladang, Johor Bharu. The memorial's name (entrance) is: Memperingati Mereka Yang Terkorban Dalam Nahas Kapalterbang Di Tanjong Kupang Johor Pada 4HB DIS 1977 Link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:IMG_0089.JPG
  11. On September 8, 2006, the Department of Civil Aviation Malaysia has gone over the guidelines on flight to and form the United Kingdom. Passgers are allowed to carry liquids but are subject to heavy screening. But for KUL-LAX via TPE and KUL-JFK via Stockholm are restricted from bring liquids to the aircraft. Link: http://hq.malaysiaairlines.com/mh/eng/abou...C1-FB26BF578286 Do you think that this is a good idea for MAS to allow liquids on aircraft only on KUL-LHR flights after the alledged terrorist threat on August 10 ,2006?
  12. I don't think so; the company promised to the airlines to deliver the A380 at its actual dates: 1. Singapore Airlines: December, 2006 2. Malaysia Airlines: May 2007 3. Emirates: September 2007
  13. I apologize on put this subject on the wrong catagory
  14. On August 27, 2006, a Delta Airlines Connection (Comair), operated as DL5191 (reg num: N431CA) [aircraft: Bombardier Canadair Regional Jet (CRJ) CRJ-100ER] overran runway 26 during takeoff at Lexington Airport Kentucky, USA and crashed into trees killing 49 out of the 50 passengers and crew. This accident is similar to Singapore Airlines Flight SQ006. Souces: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comair_Flight_191 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Singapore_Airlines_Flight_006
  15. Malaysia Airlines, Singapore Airlines and Emirates are angry at Airbus Industries at the delay of the new A380-841. Airbus says that the entertainment systems are taking its toll on the new aircraft. But the airlines said the there are no excuses for the delay.
  16. Malaysia Airlines may want to join Skyteam in 2008 or 2009. There had benn talk that Malaysia Airlines is going to join an alliance. One reason is because they are trying to recover from a large loss of money: RM$1.26 billion (2005). Two is that Malaysia Airlines agreed with Air France-KLM Royal Dutch Airlines on upgrading codeshares with them from regular to an alliance in 2006.
