  1. Yea. But nothing official at the moment. Both MH LAN rated crew and QS crew "confirmed" this rumor already.
  2. TVC and TVD service will come to end by the end of next month. As for the final month, MAS B73Q/B738 will only doing MH 0182, 0183, 0178, 0179, 0752, 0753 and some LGK.
  3. Woahhh...that captain very cool, nice and friendly one!!!! and his name is Captain Tun Beta!!!
  4. CB = Cumulonimbus cloud ... cloud that generates showers/thunderstorms Nice pix Fendy.
  5. hahahahah. The color is ottanio.
  6. From my source, the main problem due to high utilization of AK aircraft and shorter transit time. Anyway, I think both 737 series and A320 series are great a/c. The guys and gals in red did a great job to to ensure the safety of their pax also. Anyway, MH minimum transit time is 35 minutes.
  7. Confirmed, tyre burst and 4 of them. I was there on 3 February, MH2746E, 9M-MKH. You'll be surprise on how many times AK change its a/c landing gears/tyres per week.
  8. MALAYSIA AIRLINES RECEIVES IATA OPERATIONAL SAFETY AUDIT (IOSA) CERTIFICATION Malaysia Airlines scored a remarkable result in the International Air Transportation Association’s Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) and has joined the league of airlines in qualifying for this IATA accreditation under the world body’s safety audit standards. Malaysia Airlines is the 43rd operator in the IOSA registry out of 275 IATA member airlines. IOSA – IATA Operational Safety Audit is the world’s first airline safety audit based on international standard of safety and quality within the aviation industry. IATA oversees the accreditation of audit and training organizations, ensures continuous development of the IOSA standards and recommended practices and manages the central database of IOSA audit reports. IATA also implements effective quality assurance to ensure overall programme standardization and ensures that the programme is meeting airline needs as effectively as possible. The IOSA Certificate has been recognized by the US Federal Aviation Authority (FAA), Australia’s Civil Aviation Safety Authority, Transport Canada and Europe’s Joint Aviation Authority. Congratulations MAS!!! PHASE ONE - COMPLETED PHASE TWO - global alliance?? +++ edited +++ posted/discussed already... sorry ye malu je (what a shame)
  9. I think, I will miss MMT for a while. On 19 January, one of MAS B734 (most probably) Mike Mike Tango AOG in Penang. Hit by ground support vehicle. Our LGK flight (and many other flights), delayed for 2 hours (my flight only) while waiting for MMN to arrive. Scheduled to work with MMT again that day, but she never arrived. Rozhan, As for 73Q/738, I think we can expect more flights from her next month as all LAN (B73Q) rated crew has completed their training/received our SEP license. My "I think" based purely from our/LAN rated crew roster for next month... rostered for many B73Q flights. But don't take my words la.
  10. Rozhan, You are absolutely right! MMT and MMN on the other hand, very loyal to me
  11. No T.R, No 777/no made in malaysia a/c parts.
  12. Most of the Indonesian construction workers aren’t educated, but still they behave in a very, very, very good way, far better than educated/frequent travelers. As a cabin crew, I’m half shocked when they asked us how much do they need to pay us (the cabin crew) for filling up their immigration form. And most of them also don’t want to eat because they thought they need to pay for the meal ... like some airline . But we simply gave, wait... not gave, but forced (in a very positive way) them to eat. Respect & salute them.
  13. No wonder less NST/The Star onboard these days ... and "The Sun" shining very brightly lately
  14. Actually, they are very demanding and challenging pax. Especially during meal service. Lots of request. From my experience, they behaves alright. Malaysian, Indonesian, Cambodian, Pinoy. I luv em all, good pax except that they always carried more than one hand carried luggage onboard.
  15. I think, Web TV or something like that is very common on the japanese website. Worst behaved passengers? Ermm maybe kids
  16. Thanks for the link bro. Woooaahh lots of goodies/pictures/videos on the japanese website! I have high respect (and love) for the japanese pax onboard our flight. They are amazingly polite, respectful dan berdisiplin.
  17. CHML (Child Meal) on request basis only made by their parents. Whereas YPTA (Young Passenger Traveling Alone) and UM (Unaccompanied Minor) automatically entitle for the CHML. A wise ticketing officer will make a request on behalf of his/her/our little passenger. I don't understand, why MAS doesn't allow their ticketing officer (who is interested in joining the cabin crew dept) to "switch" their job. Their knowledge (ticketing code and etc) is valuable especially when handling difficult F or C Class passenger (upgraded/restriction/etc case) trying to fool us. I'm still learning the secret code of ticketing from my ticketing friends. Yes, playing card = poker card deck. Just to make things clear, Playing cards and peanuts are not the standard items/uplift for economy class on narrow body flight. However on Airbus flight peanuts are standard item/uplift. Plus limited quantity of playing cards available onboard. Normally, when economy class passenger asks for these items on board narrow body flight, we will manage to get some from GCC. Basically, GCC pax gets the priority lah abis cerita (to end the story)... Walter, The chances, ermmm, not sure. But from my own experience. About 90% of the meal service flight I did to date got chml. Maybe now is the good time, school holiday kan.
  18. Curi? No need to curi (stole) lah Errmm, you can always ask nicely from the cabin crew if got any clean or unclaim box what.
  19. Hello, Just an update. Hope you guys don't mind. Child Meal Box Set (at least for narrowbody flight ex-kul, maybe nicholas can confirm for widebody flight ) - Now come in paper box instead of plastic box - 3 nicely design/colour; red, blue and yellow - Each colour represent different type of MAS widebody a/c. Namely B747-400, B777-200 and A330 series - After meal, children can cut (pre cut already) the paper box to make their personal paper cut aeroplane (B747-400, B777-200 and A330 series) to play with - Better then the plastic box - This is what i called "form follows function for functionalism". rules of Bauhaus Playing Card - no stock. - no uplifts. Why? Cost cutting. Thanks, Fai.
  20. Q1 = RM280.7 mil Loss Q2 = RM367.7 mil Loss Q3 = Expecting Loss Q4 = ??? The net loss for the six months amounted to RM648.4 million. Full year financial report ended on 31 March 2006. How come so short one?
  21. Operational Planning Department apparently revised the B738 KUL-BKK-KUL after previous flight almost landed with meal trays. This is not a case on A330 KUL-BKK-KUL, fully operated by MAS crews. Somehow with more pax. Our Czech crews, the so called in-flight pursuer, never did their job well. Bossy around and so unprofessional. Actually they wanted to work in GCC not in economy class. But then, they had no single idea on our GCC service concept/procedures and our leading steward/stewardess against the idea.
  22. Waah, they show it (the official ceremony, taxing, interview) LIVE on TV1! Plus, some very good clips of the a/c (the making, etc) and the proposed of the new boarding lounge etc. Tomorrow, around 09:30, right after take-off, A380 will perform a fly-pass over runaway "1" before heading to Putrajaya, city centre (PTT) and Subang, SZB.
  23. KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 15 (Bernama) -- The Airbus superjumbo A380, the world's largest airliner, will make a fly-pass over the Klang Valley this Friday on its journey back to Toulouse in Southern France. It would pass over Putrajaya, Kuala Lumpur City Centre and Subang between 9.30 am to 10.30 am at a considerably low altitude on Nov 18. Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd, in a statement here Tuesday, said the airplane codenamed MSN001 would arrive at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) at Sepang on Thursday Nov 17. The aircraft would depart the KLIA on Friday at 9.30 am for the fly-pass which would enable the public to view what is surely the aviation industry's flagship of the 21st century. Malaysia Airlines had ordered six A380 super jumbo from Airbus. Each plane has a seating capacity of over 555 people. The MSN001 is the first of five aircraft taking part in the flight-test campaign and this is its first long haul journey to Asia Pacific. As a test aircraft, the cabin is bare of the normal passengers fittings and fixtures. Instead, the cabin is fitted with extensive flight-test instrumentation, measuring equipment and ballast tanks that can be filled with water to simulate the weight of a full load of passengers and cargo. Members of the public will be able to view the aircraft along the perimeter road of the Bunga Raya complex that leads to the Petronas Depot on Nov 17. On Nov 18, members of the public will get a good chance to view the departure of the aircraft from the Viewing Hill, located at the Jalan Pekeliling of KLIA when the aircraft departs KLIA at 9.30am. City folks in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Subang would get to glimpse the aircraft when it does its fly pass over these three areas before it heads back to its base in Toulouse, France. The A380, which has the length of eight London buses end-to-end and with enough room on its wings to park 70 cars, heralds a new era in passenger travel. -- BERNAMA
  24. Thanks Rozhan MH B734 to lock (or close) a door, simply rotate Door Operating Handle. No door locking indicator. MH A332/333 to lock a door, ensure door is securely closed and Door Locking Indicator shows "GREEN" and with the word "LOCKED". Simply pull down Door Control Handle to close/lock the door. Therefore ARM/DISARM a door is not about lock/unlock a door. ARM = Slide raft/slide in armed position DISARM = Slide raft/slide in disarmed position Crosscheck = Guardian of D1/2/3/4Left checks Door1/2/3/4Right, and Guardian of D1/2/3/4Right checks D1/2/3/4Left. MH F50 I'm not familiar with Fokker 50. During decomp, F50 cabin crew actions are:- 1 - SECURE SELF - Sit at the nearest seat and fasten seatbelt or wedge between seats. 2 - WAIT for Captain's announcement that the aircraft is safe before beginning post decomp duties. while MH B734/A332/A333/B772/B744 cabin crew actions are 1- THINK OXYGEN - Don nearest oxygen mask <-------- 2 - SECURE SELF - Sit at the nearest seat and fasten seatbelt of wedge between seats. 3 - WAIT for Captain's announcement that the aircraft is safe before beginning post decomp duties. Our post decomp duties are:- 1- Obtain nearest oxygen cylinder, look on follow crew members 2- check toilets, cabin, crew and pax who may need oxygen & help 3- etc etc. So, my wild guess is, there are no oxygen masks on F50 due to its low cabin altitude that require no oxygen mask in the cabin. Our cabin pressurezation is generally maintained at an altitude of 5,000 ft - 7,000 ft. But I dunno. Maybe someone can check/comfirm for us. Thanks.
