  5. Bangkok Airways and Malaysia Airlines begin Code Share by Malaysia Airlines on Tuesday, 27 March 2012 at 15:23 · Subang, 27 March 2012 : Malaysia Airlines (MH) and Bangkok Airways (PG) have commenced a code share agreement on the Thai carrier’s selected domestic flights and international routes between Thailand and Malaysia, as well as on Malaysia Airlines’ two services between Malaysia and Thailand. The arrangement, effective 25 March 2012, allows Malaysia Airlines to set its MH marketing flight code on Bangkok Airways’ services for Bangkok-Koh Samui (31 times weekly flights), Bangkok-Phuket (14 times weekly flights), Bangkok-Chiang Mai (14 times weekly flights), Koh Samui-Phuket (14 times weekly flights) and Koh Samui-Kuala Lumpur (daily flight). Bangkok Airways will code share on Malaysia Airlines’ Kuala Lumpur-Bangkok (27 times weekly) and Kuala Lumpur-Phuket (14 times weekly) services. The latest Bangkok Airways’ service for Kuala Lumpur-Koh Samui allows Malaysians and international passengers to fly direct into the island from KL International Airport (KLIA) without having to stop over in Bangkok. It has convenient flight timings, departing KLIA at 8.25 am to arrive Koh Samui at 9.05 am whilst its return flight leaves the island at 6.00 pm and arrives KLIA at 8.30 pm, making it convenient for international connections on Malaysia Airlines. The KLIA-Koh Samui-KLIA service is PG’s third international route into Samui island after Singapore and Hong Kong. According Malaysia Airlines Senior Vice President International Affairs, Germal Singh, “We are delighted to begin this cooperation with Bangkok Airways which is fast growing into Thailand’s premier domestic and regional airline. With Malaysia Airlines’ current 27 weekly services between Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok and twice daily services between Kuala Lumpur and Phuket, the code share with Bangkok Airways fits nicely into the needs of our travelers. They now have better travel options to get to Chiangmai via Bangkok, or on circuit trips like KLIA-Phuket-Koh Samui-Bangkok-KLIA. The code share with PG also allows us to improve our Thailand product by offering seamless connectivity to these sought-after destinations whilst strengthening KLIA’s position as a key gateway for travelers.” Peter Weisner, Bangkok Airway’s Senior Vice President - Network commented, “This new partnership will offer better flight connectivity for passengers travelling on Malaysia Airlines from long-haul routes to KL International Airport for their onward journey to Koh Samui as our flight departure times from KLIA brings in good traffic flow from both Europe and Oceania. We are also expecting a sizable number of Malaysian tourists to Koh Samui, reputed to be one of Thailand’s most beautiful beach destinations.” For more information and reservations, customers can contact Malaysia Airlines at 1-300-88-3000. log on to malaysiaairlines.com , call Bangkok Airways’ in Malaysia at 03-21480829 or visit bangkokair.com Source : http://www.facebook....371903632850287

Whilst the national carrier is rationalizing its network as part of Business Plan to return to profitability, the entry into oneworld® will considerably enhance its network while providing baseload demand from fellow oneworld® members. Yesterday (20 March 2012) airberlin, serving 162 destinations in 40 countries with a fleet of 170 aircraft and a workforce of 9,200 employees, became part of oneworld®, adding the second biggest airline in Germany and the sixth biggest in the European continent overall to the world’s premier global airline alliance. Austria’s NIKI, also a member of the airberlin group, joined oneworld® as an affiliate member at the same time. The Group CEO (GCEO) of Malaysia Airlines, Encik Ahmad Jauhari Yahya, together with key leaders of the member airlines including American Airlines Chairman and Chief Executive, and Chairman of the oneworld® Governing Board, Tom Horton, IAG Chief Executive Willie Walsh and Qantas Chief Executive Officer Alan Joyce, as well as oneworld® CEO Bruce Ashby gathered at airberlin’s Berlin home to welcome on board the alliance’s latest recruit. Speaking at the welcoming event, Encik Ahmad Jauhari said, “After airberlin, Malaysia’s national carrier will become full member of oneworld® alliance. The prospect of being able to offer improved global coverage and connectivity through an expanded network of great airlines to Malaysia Airlines’ guests is indeed very exciting. Our customers, in particular members of our Enrich loyalty programme, will benefit from increased rewards and recognition whilst enjoying more seamless air travel options “We look forward to our full membership that will improve our brand awareness amongst the alliance members’ customers and enhance our load factors through additional partner traffic. These in turn will drive the hub connectivity to facilitate our global reach through oneworld’s network of some 800 destinations in 150 countries.
