  1. Based off 9M-MLO, I'm going to assume it is painted in the red and blue swish livery as well. Guess they're not quite ready to incorporate their "new livery" onto the narrowbodies just yet.
  2. MAS's newest B738, 9M-MLO, is currently in Honolulu on delivery. Well guess what scheme she is sporting: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-mSqZBRHNiYQ/T9zWCff0MqI/AAAAAAAACnU/G9btq4TyjC4/s1600/B738%2B9M-MLO%2BMALAYSIA%2BAIRLINES.jpg Keep in mind that 9M-MLN was delivered all white. Did -MLN since get repainted to the full swish livery?
  3. Came up with a quick list of airlines in the region that will probably be getting rid of the B744s soon: -MAS with the delivery of all A380s -Garuda, once their B77Ws come online -ANA - scheduled to retire the B744D within the next two years. Their last international B744 was retired in March 2011, just after JAL got rid of theirs. -Philippine Airlines? If the country gets the FAA CAT1 upgrade perhaps. Anyone know the status of Air India's B744(s)?
  4. Thanks Rayner and Kenneth for showing us around the city, the food was terrific! Though I was stuffed, I still managed to enjoy a wonderful dish on Firefly (unfortunately not the lemongrass rice/chicken) as well as KFC's wonderful Tom Yum Crunch chicken at KUL. Hope to meet you guys again soon, whether it be in SIN, KCH, or somewhere else in the region.
  5. Thanks Rayner and Kenneth for willing to show us around! Like KC and Vernon, I'm also looking forward to this adventure. Haha great thinking there, but I'm ultimately after the lemongrass rice with chicken since that's the dish that got away (twice) last time!
  6. Nice shot! A similar thing happened to me at HNL for PK-GFM's delivery flight. After they called HNL tower, I got my camera ready to shoot their touchdown. The only difference was that as the plane appeared from behind the building, it was all white!
  7. One of the two Comco B752s are in Hawaii right now. Probably N226G. Great, they removed the koru design on the winglets--I guess they weren't joking. Just another blank winglet to stare at. So it's now time to get as many photos of the MH B734s before they disappear! What happened to the GA B733s/B734s/B735s? Do they still fly them into SIN? If not, are there any still flying?
  8. Hope they also send them to HNL! Those B763s with winglets sure look sharp!
  9. RobK, China Eastern had two B737s (a -700 and an -800) in HNL today, and the -700 left for PMI this morning as well. After 9M-MLF, this is the second time I've seen a flight route from HNL-PMI! Flightaware, however, shows the route of flight headed for MAJ, perhaps it was a diversion? http://flightaware.com/live/flight/CES299 The crew of the -800 decided to stay another night in HNL! Here's another shot of 9M-MLF bound for PTPN:
  10. Hopefully it makes an appearance in HNL soon!
  11. So did anyone manage to get photos of the Jett8 B742 with the Changi color scheme and the Porsche race? Surprised no one has any photos yet!
  12. Oh, and looking at some of my takeoff shots from SIN, there seems to be a former TAM MD-11 (now freighter) in front the SASCO hangar. This was as of Friday the 24th of July. Hopefully we can photograph it during air tests, if it didn't already leave.
  13. The two afternoons I spent at Changi beach this year were probably two of my best spotting days at SIN so far. Hopefully there will be many more similar days to come before I leave. Looking at the many days Thai sent the A345/A346 to SIN, I can say that I am definitely unlucky in getting a B744, which according to KC, hasn't made any recent appearances at SIN until my flight last Friday. And yes KC, I was very disappointed as it said "346" on my itinerary! Grr! I must say that the winglet with the old Thai logo is much nicer than a plain old purple winglet though.
  14. KC: Here's the flying Panda at HNL. Now I'm still waiting to get the ANA Star Alliance B763 over here! Two special visitors, N121UA and JA606A. Panda makes an early takeoff from the Reef Runway. Oh, hope I am allowed some HNL photos in this SIN thread!
  15. Nice Panda catch, KC. If that was the morning flight out of SIN on the 21st of June, it came to HNL after its stop in NRT. Caught JA606A in HNL this morning headed back for NRT. It was a nice surprise!
