  1. for sure tomorrow KLIA2 will see some traffic and flight disruptions when Air Asia moves over and there will be problems with the baggage delivery systems and many passengers will be delayed getting out of the airport and even some flights will be late.
  2. that's what thhe tourism minister can say - but the fact is the govt will no doubt have to bail MAS out again soon and again as it doesn't want to sell or truly privatized the company to a non-govt interest company. MAS have already incurred rm1.2 billion losses even before MH 370 went missing - and after this incident it is for sure MAS will lose even much more. If the govt and Khazanah do not bail out MAS again and again - then who else in their logical mind would. Already bank Negara have to set up a special purpose vehicle to buy the planes that MAS needs.
  3. Just watched the repeat of Richard Quest interview with PM Najib - and its such a turn about by PM as he also mentioned that now he believes the Inmarsat satellite calculations are wrong. Wasn't the PM the one who called for a press interview to announce MH370 has ended in the south indian ocean based on strong Inmarsat satellite and that he believed it is so. PM also make the same reply they did a good job with the often heard reason that its is unprecendented. Whilst it is, but then one should have been more careful and really clear on things before they make announcements and then having to retract or deny. Those interested can watch the CNN of The Brief repeat tomorrow at 10am. Don't think Malaysia's reputation and credibility will ever be the same after this incident. and of course even now blaming Boeing for making the aircraft!
  4. www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxXITP5DV41 how can a PM changed his story after he held a press conference about 4 weeks back to announce that the plane has ended in the south indian ocean and followed up by MH sending smses to the passengers' relatives that the plane had come down????
  5. PM now changed his stance and say he is not prepared to say plane is lost during his interview with cnn yesterday!!!
  6. Yes not inly the 2 VC-25s will be here, a few days before the USAF will also bring in airport security personnel and some equipment in its likely C-17 who will go through all security measures surrounding the airfield and where even snipers be positioned and have all the aviation fuel checked and sealed for AF One etc, and in addition another C-17 will be flying in the President's limo - all in be a few USAF aircrafts to support The President's visit. Hence subang will play host to a a few USAF aircrafts.
  7. the "decoy" will land at subang as the same with AF One provided it is the first to land and act as a decoy. However if the actual AF One would to be the first to land at subang, then the decoy will likely land at KLIA.
  8. Air Asia X have a good head start and hence its will have a higher transit traffic and feed especially from its sister Air Asia domestic and regional flights. Singapore presently have Scoot with 5 B777s and will grow its fleet to 20 B787s and Tiger air with its smaller 20 A320s for now. In the near future, s'pore's international LCC, Scoot would have more transit passenger traffic out of changi and will be comparable to Air Asia X or even exceeding it Scoot and tiger can get its act better - as changi sees a much larger passenger volume than KLIA/KLIA2 combined.
  9. there should be 2 planes - and only one is the real Air Force One.
  10. am not sure if the 738 have tire indications or not - as in the airbuses when the wheels are down it is able to even see all the individual tires pressure reading too
  11. good thing that now he is coming in on sat 26 apr and flying off on monday 28th apr
  12. believed that this incident is way over blown out of context and with the minister and IGP all coming out to have some say. Seems like a lot of media sensationalism and reporting - as what actually happened when the plane landed - it was just a tyre burst on its right main gear - doesn't look like any gear malfunction. The only surprisingly thing is that the pilots were not aware of it and ATC have to inform them when rubber debris was found on the runway (?). Other than that - pretty much a standard incident that pilots are well trained for.
  13. from the Star, it was made out to be like such a big event and investigations etc . Plane landed safely and its a "normal" landing. From what I gather it was just a burst front tyre - and hope not the landing gear issue as some reports alluded to.
  14. well the RMAF have already said the supposedly MH370 it supposedly tracked was deemed as "not hostile" despite the unusual flight path it took - hence looks like most of the planes without transponders over the years were also deemed as "not hostile". Its a grave danger as to how they simply can determine its "not hostile" in light of after the 911 episode. Or were they really even see the blips at all (?). But yes, the RMAF need to audit and check their protocols when dealing with unidentified aircrafts.
  15. yes lets be honest and pragmatic abt this - and yes in the first week the govt did made some mistakes and had subsequently did make some u turns in their statements - that's all been documentated and captured in the video press conferences - and have been used by western media to the pointed facts when reporting on these discrepancies.
  16. Looks like AK really have no real issues with KLIA2 with regards to "cracks and all" as it have now agreed to move and supposedly after MAB agreed to have ICAO to cgeck through klia2 - which now am not sure if ICAO will go ahead since ak have agreed to move now. On MAB raising airport charges, well believed that's inevitable as they need to recoup the rm4 billion invested in the building of klia2 but on ak side, am sure ak will pass on the increases to pax - and as long as the airport charges is even marginally lower than the main Klia - then ak still maintain some of its low costs model.
  17. Well but think now this is the way malaysian govt is releasing such info byusing itsofficials to "leaked" to the media - just like few days ago the govt did with the release of the news that MH370 deliberately skirted around indon air space to avoid detection - and when a reported asked Hisham at the press conference, he just say yes on the information.
  18. Now RMAF say it did scrambled its fighter planes to intercept MH370?? and this is now being released after 33 days?? And when RMAF radar detected the supposedly turn back - it didnt say so or inform the govt only after 5 days and wasting the precious 5 days searching the waters off vietnam! And believed the govt did acknowledged and even say the RMAF did not scramble any of its jets bec it was seen as "not hostile" Seriously if indeed such conflicting news now stands then like the international media have been saying all along that Malaysia's credibity is at stake.
  19. actually for the AirFrance 447, the wreakage and site was found in 2-3 days' time. When the plane encountered bad turbulance a few systems in the flight deck have issued sa few warnings and these were sent by ACARS as once the cockpit warning lights/alarms come on ACARS will be sent. The finding of the black box after 2 yrs have nothing to do with SWIFT - as the batteries ofthe blackboxes have ran out and they have to search the sea bed for it. Having SWIFT would meant that in the event the transponder n ACARS are switched off, it will still send out signals of the plane's location - independent of the transponder.
  20. The MH plane with the dirty fuselage at the tail end parked at the remote bay is not near its service life - but its more that Mh maintenance and in this case maintaining the plane's cleanliness is just not there. On the "official who do not wished to be named" and what he said is true - as during yesterday's press conference Hisham when asked by a foreign reported acknowledged that the info is true ie the plane skirted around indonesia. Itlooks like the govt actually "released" this news through such "way" and not through during a press conference for some reason only known to the govt. But again the western media are questioning why the malaysian govt is releasing this info only now after 30 days?
  21. yes Hafiziza - this was reported in the press and even picked up by international media by CNN and am surprised that you have missed this had you been following closely all along.
  22. potholes on runway - whats new for Malaysia ?
  23. lets hope hard that this is the final straw that the pingers belonged to the downed MH plane and that the batteries still "hope against hope" like what Hisham like to say that it lasts at least a week or two more. This is because as most would know that a couple of weeks back, when MH finally checked through their blackboxes n batteries - that they were Not kept in a cool and dry place - but in a rather warm n hot place and that the last time they checked was in 2012 although they should have been checked yearly or more! And the blackboxes batteries on MH370 was due to be changed in June. Without keeping these batteries as recommended by the manufacturer will decrease its life shelf due to the heat. And the other thing is for MH and hope they are also stepping up their maintenance and do a technical audit on all their maintenance and storage and accountability of their parts and spares - and not wait till after this long investigation. Last week I arrived at KLIA and saw a MH 777 at the remote bay with a very dirty tail section - and even cleaniness is still not maintained!
  24. The ping was only oicked up last Saturday at noon. On US failing to intercept the 2 planes that crashed into the twin towers was because of the very short distance when the plane took off from NY airport to the city - whereas here the supposedly MH 370 took 1.10 hrs to fly from the east side to the west of Malaysia - and nothing was done about it - not even interrogating the unidentified plane.
  25. and strange is why only yesterday that a govt-source was quoted as saying that MH 370 skirted and avoided Indonesian radar - and 30 days late??? when the Chinese ship heard the pings. Why did it takes the govt official to release this info only yesterday - a month after the plane disappeared; and whats the point now - as it will only lead to many questioning the govt on this. If they had known then there would not be wasted time searching off Vietnam coast and the Andaman sea which wasted more than a week's search.
